Hearing rumors from Aggie students that some players were seen drinking the night before the game. Is there any substance to this story?

They would have been in the hotel the night before. Highly doubt people left the hotel to party before an 11am playoff game.
I hope they were drinking- cramps are a helluva thing.

Seems unlikely team stays at a hotel meetings team meals curfew etc I doubt this would be the game players would sneak out

Probably not THE night before for reasons stated above, but there's a lot of smoke that Reed was partying in the days leading up to the game. The X post with the video has been nuked repeatedly on here, which tells you what you need to know.

It would be a much better situation if they were all hungover & played like that vs just being straight up awful at football

Based upon performance I would say some of the coaches were hungover too.

Team is in a hotel from dinner to lights out, which is early for a 11 AM game. With curfew / bed checks. Stupid rumor.
Reed is not good enough to be partying the week leading up to the game.
Understand Reed will likely be QB1 but he needs some competition, he should have to win the job again.

if it was the night before, i'd care. but i highly, highly doubt that's the case.
if it was before that, I couldn't care less. UNLESS there's a set of specific rules on drinking or curfews that the coaches impose earlier in the week... that's their prerogative! Don't like the rules, get off the team.

Drinking the night before games is so 80's and 90's. "Smokin the in Boys Room!"
Coach always told us to stay hydrated so I'm sure they were.
As for alcohol use? I don't know however JFF did state in 2015 that he wanted his statue quote to be, "Win or lose, we will booze!"
