and only 2.9YPC against Texas
and only 2.7YPC against Miami

This is the top deficiency when you break down our play.. faltered last year when Moss went down, and this year.

We need (3) new RB's with explosive potential... and we dont have them... Owens is okay, but without a true efficient back on 1st down, we cannot win consistently asking Marcel to do everything... run, pass, pass with precision (no one can do that).

We need more speed at RB, more vision, more competition... and we need speed at LB and safety as well. Because of York's limitations (and others) they had to pre-decide on holes to fill many times with no recovery speed if they chose wrong. 54yr run by Fletcher - a slow Miami back- showed it.

I know Elko values linemen, and he should... without them nothing happens, but to be elite, we have to plug those three holes...

1/ RB speed/vision
2/ LB speed
3/ Safety talent

(Moss down + Scooby down = huge drop off)

We need an oline that can push people around to where we can rely on short yardage runs consistently

Again until our qb learns how to lead receiver it won't matter. OL was not the problem Reed holding the ball and missing wide open guys was the problem.

How can you even use that game to evaluate the RB position? 20 rushes outside of the QB, with 3 being to receivers, leaving a whopping 6 rushes each for the three backs. Our offense started to deteriorate the day Reed got mentioned for the heisman and we decided to showcase him rather than have a balanced attack.

I feel have to multifaceted.

1. 12 and 21 personnel
2. Play action with TE play
3. Don't be afraid to bring in an extra lineman
4. Can still run a wide open open offense.

Well there is a reason we just signed two elite Tabs and I think Morrow has a chance to be special also. Owens will have to earn RB1 and not sure he will.

No the oline was absolutely a problem

Reed was also a problem

I'm just a fan, don't know X's and O's at all, and I know many of you are going to comment "what a dumb question", but how do you fill three holes with two LB's? I don't see how a 4-2-5 can stop the run effectively and consistently unless we have exceptionally athletic LB's that are strong and fast and excel at shedding blocks.
Now as far as that 5,6 YPC with Moss and 3.5 YPC with everybody else, KJ Edwards is on the way and he'll be here in January.
