There's nothing funny about open doors during press conferences

Sip game and Miami game were utterly embarrassing, but 11-2 does not suck. Sorry, objectively I just have to say that. With that being said, we sucked yesterday.

Everybody saw what happened. Regardless of how we feel.

We won 11 games with one quality win. We closed with two decent teams and went 0-2

We were 1-2 vs above average comp.

This all came a year after sip played in the SEC championship game and won 2 playoff games last year.

We needed to match that type of results and we fell flat on our face when it mattered.

We still collapsed late season.

But we're collapsing at a higher level.

Maybe Elko can keep building something.

I don't think Elko sucks but don't think he managed the hubbub at the end of the year very well at all. The Miami game was there for the taking and we weren't prepared and didn't address the issues we had at tu. So, 11-1…great. But laying an egg like we did Saturday was a massive failure because you never can be sure that opportunity comes back around any time soon.

This year was a very mixed bag. Did we go 11-2? Yep. Did we lose our last 2 games which where increasing in importance? Yep.

I'm already out there with my expectations for next year, and it's primarily based on roster turnover and how green the inbound starters will be.

Doesn't mean the program is in a bad place, it just means it's continuing to evolve under the new leadership.

Until we're putting 10+ players into the NFL Draft every year with some consistency, we won't be perennial contenders….we'll just be another team looking upwards at those that are.

Everyone sucks.

Even game day knew we would lay an egg. Nothing has changed. Elko and team checked out after the SC comeback and secured playoff spot. They got their bonus checks. It's clear they were a different team after that. Last 2 games was not the same team that played LSU and Mizzu. Those teams had passion and fight. This team after SC had non of that.
