My take, the elite college football programs play the long game. If you don't think Bama, Ohio State, etc. etc... aren't piling money into their programs knowing they may not "win it all" every year, you're being diametric and naive .

We'll be just fine. I take the view that 2025 was incredible in terms of proving our thesis. We can recruit elite players and Elko is a program builder. Let's just accept the fact that the money spent will NEVER be a guarantee of winning it all. But without it, we have no chance.

I think the future is bright.

I agree with this. Simply, in the era of NIL (which is still new), the "market" will find an equilibrium eventually. But I think it will be across all schools and schools with the biggest fan bases and most donors will be at a sustained advantage. Said another way, the benchmark total spend figure may fall across schools, but not sure it will really impact who stays competitive. Players will simply be playing for less money.

Exactly, beyond being a massive waste, I dont see how this as sustainable from an ROI perspecrive. It'll implode spectacularly.

Look at Indiana. It's still a coaches game. They didn't spend the money we did.

We focus on relationship more than potential and results.

Same guy was available when we picked Stoops and then Elko

Is it your money ? If not, then what gives you the right to scold others who are simply saying that those who spent the money on behalf of our football program are idiots, with no financial sense whatsoever; i.e., they got no ROI !

It's not about throwing money at something, it's about making smart investments. That means if you want anything more than a mediocre football program, then make decisions and investments that reflect what you want to achieve.

I've said it many times on this forum, we need to hire a professional college football search firm to identify who we should hire as HC, OC, and DC. The search needs to be based on the coaches with the highest probability of winning a Natty, based on previous experience and success at the Natty level. If we were serious about it, that search firm should have already been working for us and given us the top 3 names for each coaching level (HC, OC, and DC), and we should have already made them offers !

We will be 5-7 or 6-6 next year.. program builder ? We are 0-3 in the biggest games the last 3 years with a total of 7, 17 and 3 pts..! We scored 10 total points at home in the 2 biggest games of Elko era…!!!
Next year OC and DC with zero experience..!
