I'd be a lot more worried about fixing the offensive line than the QB, yeah he sucked the last two games, but he did show flashes of brilliance throughout the season. But without a great line I don't care who you put back there we're in trouble, so we better spend and spend hard on getting the best line we can get.

Wow! selective memory. Mond was ver bad at several things- the sideline passes (amost ALWAYS OVERTHRIWN) and inability to hit deep passes (yes he had a few great ones but generally not good.

He was money on short in-routes though.

The best we can hope for is a truly open QB competition in spring football. It's unlikely a Lagway or Mestemaker (or similar) will transfer here without more solid chance at starting, and our staff won't want to give guarantees till they see how they perform in spring camp.

We must hope the staff has been doing their job in QB evaluations and development, that at least someone other than Reed is ready to step in.

A team of our caliber should not be beholden to Reed. Typically, teams like us have homegrown talent ready to replace underperforming QBs. At the very, very least, Reed cannot be allowed to waltz into starting another year here

You're right. Reed will be the starter because we just gave him an enormous pay day! Personally, I think there were several Quarterbacks available in the portal who are much better Quarterbacks for a fraction of the money. Reed is a 7 or 8 win QB against next year's brutal schedule. Let's hope Elko has a stellar defense!

Whats super frustrating is that this roster is at a national championship level. The defense is there and the Jimmy's and Joes are there on offense except for the QB and the guys calling the plays

reed is fatally flawed. not bringing a better qb through the portal has put a cap on this season. no excuse for that interception or the one last week against asu. he doesn't see the field.

I promise you Elko will portal a better dual threat QB.

Look at the success other programs have had doing that.

Yeah, if Elko doesn't bring in qb competition, or just outright replace Reed, then he has no business running a professional football team.

Outside of jff, I'll never understand why we always try to make running qb's pocket passers.

As the announce said, "All he had to do was lay it out there!" BUT he threw it in the dirt!!!!
