Answers all my questions

Just my opinion, so no inside information, but I believe that Elko has been coy for a reason. I think he probably could have played against tu, but Elko figured it was more important to get him fully healthy for the playoffs.

That would have been pretty dumb to not play him against tu if he was 100% healthy.

No one is ever 100% healthy, So, if you have a high risk player with zero playoff eligibility implications to sit them, I think nost quality coaches make the same decision with Moss

We ans fans are emotionally vested in beating TU where as Elko is financially vested in winning a natty,

Elko made the right decision despite the average fans temptation to push all chips into table for a Texas win.

No one outside Texas and A&M fans will remember the outcome of any particular years lone star showdown. If we win the national championship or make a deep run it'll change the programs trajectory with recruits for many years.

I hope after a long recovery that he able and ready to play 4 quarters.

We ended up in one of the toughest brackets for the natty because if that loss. Playing that game close or winning would have been much better for us.

2011, 2024, 2025 all seem easy to remember…but I can't quite put my finger on why…

Yes winning or playing sip close in the aftermath would have been nice but many wanted to skip the Sec championship anyway. What if it was a calculated risk by Elko. If we win tu without him, good Moss plays in championship if we lose good he gets more rest. It was a win win to not play him because playoffs were secured.

both are possible I think Elko was playing the tu game like a non conference. Play it conservative try not to get anyone hurt win if we can if not no biggie home game at Kyle. Gameplans second half defensively certainly was vanilla and the offensive scheme seemed like it wanted to do the basics and utilize weapons sparing my on offense especially once Reed got nicked up.

We got beat, there is no way Elko went easy on that game. Elko knows how important that game was.

Nope. He's doing nothing but eating twinkies and playing video games since he got injured.

He's definitely not a stud college athlete that has an entire army of personal trainers, chefs, coaches, doctors, and teammates that have been working to keep him in shape and ready to return to the field.

He might never be able to run a 40 yard dash again with all the weight he's gained over the last few months.

Didn't say he was 100%. Big difference. My point was that Moss may have been able to play against tu at something less than 100%, but Elko thought it would be better to make sure he was 100% ready to go in the playoffs.
