OC Collin Klein: Will showcase his best job this year.

- Will call a game to take away the strength of Miami's defense (their front 4 D Line)
- Also calling Screens (RB,WR), & Quick Hitting Passing Plays (Slants & Crosses)

He will have Marcel Reed to have the ball out in under 3 seconds from the snap:

- Coach Klein will minimize Reeds interception / turnovers through play calling.
- Bringing lots of play action passes and RPO's where his feet are set. Improved Accuracy

- Just as Miami will have Carson Beck to throw the ball in 2 to 2.5 seconds to avoid sacks.
---- We will have the same strategy.

Which ever QB plays the cleanest wins and OC Collin Klein knows this.

Best 1st Down play against a solid DLine is a screen/sweep or wheel route to the wide side of the field Get the DLine moving and chasing laterally. Then lineup quickly and run right at them. Get them on their heels.

Players were wide open all game. Reed for as great of a leader as he has been had a really poor night seeing the field. Owens had a poor night running the ball. The players were put in position to succeed. Yes there are always things a coaching staff can do better.

But sometimes (and actually most of the time) it truly is the players that matter more.

The only reason that we are in this playoff game:

* Is the in game strategy & play calling of our complete coaching staff.
-- For every game that we have won this year. Give Them Credit.
--- Yes - We had a really bad 1st half vs SC and really bad second half against t.u.

Don't give a crap about peoples perception - We have survived to be in the CFP.
--- There are 124 teams of the 136 that are not in the CPS playoffs.

The t.u. game is water-under-the-bridge.
*** We are about to give the Aggie Fans something new to remember the 2025 team for.

What is Klein's incentive to call a great game?

I think he's got a lot of incentive to hold back on any innovation; he'll need it for a fast start in order to get K-State onto solid footing.

The experience & bragging rights of saying "I've won a playoff game" or "I made it to semis/NC game" is probably a minor incentive at most. It'll be a loooong time before he gets this far with K-State; this ain't like DeBoer leaving UW for Bama.

Cause he's a competitor, bonus money, and it does look good to recruits at K-State if he's putting up points on good defenses

You didn't recognize a pattern, you pointed out one game that wasn't even at Kyle Field.

Now I get that it's a Texags tradition to not really understand football, but to also blame coordinators for every problem under the sun while absolving players of any wrong doing.

But unless I'm mistaken, A&M is ranked nationally:

#15 in points per game
#15 in yards per game
#13 in yards per play

A&M is ranked in the SEC:

#4 in scoring offense
#5 in total offense
#5 in yards per play

I'm also pretty sure the Ags are 11-0 and averaging 35+ points per game.

But, let's look at how the points per game compares to previous seasons (since we are talking about trends):

2025: 35.3 ppg
2024: 28.6 ppg
2023: 32.9 ppg
2022: 22.0 ppg
2021: 27.3 ppg
2020: 32.6 ppg

40+ points scored:

2025: 6 games
2024: 4 games
2023: 4 games
2022: 2 games
2021: 4 games
2020: 4 games

I feel like there are some trends there, no?

Is Klein perfect? No, of course not. Does he make some boneheaded calls sometimes? Absolutely!

But to pretend he hasn't done an incredible job here is pretty silly. Basing a full assessment of him based on one road game in a rivalry matchup is downright laughable.

Come on. Are these serious questions?

Can you imagine the pitch to recruits if his game planning contributes to winning playoff games?

How about, "Not only have I coached in playoff games, I've helped win them. The only other B12 schools that can say that are TCU and Texas tech. Come to KSU, play for me, and we will get to the playoffs and you will have a chance to win a national title."

The B12 isn't the SEC and Kstate has won football games before NIL.

Conversely, can you imagine the conversation at schools competing for recruits he wants if he bombs this game?

I swear, every day I'm more convinced that the vast majority of people who post here have never played competitive sports (or anything else that requires competition).

You're also conveniently forgetting the fact that we needed an absolute miracle to beat a dog**** Carolina team. The trend is that we haven't looked that great in our past two SEC games. Trending the wrong direction at the wrong time of the year. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Throw in the fact that the wunderkind also has a foot out the door and his eye on his new job.

He was not committed to run against texas like he has been all year. Texas had best DL we played all year so it looks a lot like he made himself one dimensional in that game. It was a very different attack compared to what we saw all year. Is they because we couldnt do what we had done all year or because we didn't try?

There is a balance to attacking more where they are not as strong but you cant do that with blinders on. You still gotta be you.

Im not certain how much time Klein is devoting to his OC job now and how that impacts things. All i know is he is not giving it his full attention and assume that is not good.

From a broad reading of comments across the media, I believe Miami is underestimating the challenge they face playing an 11- 1 SEC team on the road. We will see how good their ACC competition really was, along with the road environment in that conference. Who did they lose to? What was their schedule strength? No one seems to highlight it.

I'm not sure if you intentionally meant to prove my point about football knowledge, but I appreciate you doing so.

As far as the SC game goes, how many INT's did Klein throw in the first half?

How many INT's did Klein throw in the second half of the Texas game?

You then also simultaneously say the Ags had one of the most impressive offensive performances in the second half of the SC game while saying the offense has looked terrible…

Opposing defenses want to get us into a game where Reed is operating from the pocket and having to read coverages. That's usually where the offense stalls and where Reed makes mistakes. The run game, QB run, quick passes/screens is probably where the offensive staff needs to find success early to keep the offense moving. If we have success running the ball then we'll control the game and win.

Miami is talented and they're going to score on our defense so the offense cannot stall. We cannot get into the type of game where we're relying on the QB to make plays operating in the pocket. The offensive game plan against tu was garbage. We need and expect Klein to have a better plan and to play to our team's and personnel's strengths.
