Why are they allowed a tour of Kyle field? Seems excessively accommodating.

Because nobody is allowed unless we say so. They obviously felt it would help them acclimate. Why give them things they want that the feel could help them?

Imagine the shock of a player seeing Kyle field for the first time with 107,000+ Ags yelling at them.

that is true, but I tend to think there is a protocol in place. Don't know for sure, but I would think the protocol would be to accomodate

pshht .. thats not how it works. You cant tell a visting team " No you cant access the facility till you arrive for the game.
Get real. The SEC and without question the CFP have rules in place.

They will also have a walkthru practice at Kyle tomorrow.
In basketball and baseball when a team arrives the night before a game they usually have a oractice that night.

They're gonna need to get used to it.

Wonder how that works

I would think they would want the nicest hotel as close to the stadium as possible. That would make the creatively named "Texas A&M Hotel" by far.

But those rooms...and all good rooms in CS are outrageously expensive for any game...

Assuming all schools have the rooms blocked for any contingency...A football team and staff is damn near an entire hotel.

Regular season is obviously done months in advance...i guess for the playoffs the likely home teams atheletic departments just book 200 rooms?

No way the travelling team could do it ahead of time....Miami, Notre Dame, Alabama, and BYU would all be competing to reserve the same 200 rooms in Oxford Norman, or College Station.

messy.

In the NIL and Portal era, thing of it as a recruiting trip. In fact, it would be hilarious if we ended the tour in a computer lab with all the PCs logged into the portal.

In off-the-field matters we want to be congenial hosts for two reasons. One, it's the right thing to do. Two, you want other teams to reciprocate when we play them.

Completely agree. The physical stadium is not intimidating. It's the crowd noise that makes any difference.

The host team is responsible for obtaining hotel room blocs before the season in the event that they host a first round game. This includes the visiting team, broadcast crew, and other personnel.

The Hilton can probably accommodate a team in their cabana wing, without even getting into the main building.

Doesnt sound like you've ever been in a visitors locker room before. It's part of gamesmanship to do little petty things to get in the others team's head. Really not that appalling of a concept.
