Beck is a sixth year player, who would have gone to the NFL except the $4m Miami paid.

Sayin is a Freshman with less experience.

Beck played against SEC defense and Sayin has not.

The good part for Elko and the defense is they have a ton of film on Carson.

Beck may be better, but overall Ohio State is a much better team.

Miami has a stud receiver that wouldn't even see the field at Ohio state

Let me say ive not seen a single Miami game. But, i think this is mostly about the Ags. You play all year for this home field. If Ags play to their potential we have a great chance. If we think we can only play one good half or make stupid mistakes, you are going to lose to any of the top 10 teams in this playoff. Which, by and large is the case for all these teams.
Defensively, i want to slow the run game and certainly no giant chunk plays on ground. Gap control needs to be fixed.
Offensively we have to be able to run and that includes Reed.
Both of the above were problems in loss to texas and if we perform say way we lose this game as well.

Miami beat themselves that day. They are superior to SMU. And, they're playing their best football.

The Ags are starting over. Regrouping. Getting healthy. Hopefully we play a complete game. If we do, we advance. If not, we finish 11-2.

In one week we'll know for sure.

Anyone is going to struggle to score two TDs against that Ohio State defense. Only done twice this season and one was a garbage TD (Illinois).

People keep saying Miami is playing sooooo grrrreeeeeaaaattt.
The combined record of the teams they played since SMU is.

21-27.

There best win was againt Pitt 8-4 who had one win against a top 25 team and is ranked 108th in sacks allowed per dropback.

And what about Louisville?

Pretty sure SMU had something to do with Miami not playing well. I will say, it is amazing the lengths people on this board will go to explain away and ignore any negative thing related to Miami, but amplify and exaggerate any negative thing they think about the Ags.

Per Sagarin, Missouri is better than SMU and Auburn is better than Louisville. Just so everybody has a reference on the level of teams that Miami has lost to.

Should have had plenty on sips and Archibald and we saw how that worked out.

Along with this excellent post, here are the total defense rankings of the last 4 teams Miami has played:

Syracuse: 130
NC State: 92
VTech: 106
Pitt: 71

Outside of Notre Dame (in August) they haven't played a top 30 defense this year. The next best defense they faced was SMU, then Louisville. Every other defense they have played have been 40th or worse.

Against every defense they played ranked under 50 (4 teams: ND, SMU, Lville, FSU), they didn't crack 30 points a single time. In those games, they only had more than 350 total yards once. Against SMU (388).

But Miamis has a top-10 defense, you say! Let's look at the total offense ratings of the teams they played in the last 4 games:

Syracuse: 118
NC State: 47
VTech: 114
Pitt: 17

They did play #2 USF three months ago, but they have t exactly been facing a murderers row of offensive fire power.

So when we talk about the last month of Miami's schedule, let's make sure we talk about the quality of teams they have played. Again, I'm not saying the Ags are going to blow them out. I'm not even saying the Ags will win.

All I'm asking is, why does everybody play up Miami's success against weak teams while hand-waving away losses, but then say that the last two quarters of the game against the #13 team in the country that hadn't lost at home all season defines the entire Aggie football season?
