The playoff game time slots were due to NFL games also being scheduled that day.

We ended up with what they felt was the best time slot since we won't be going up against the NFL, so all eyes will be on our game.

If ESPN didn't like us, they would have put us on TNT/HBOmax, and overshadowed by the NFL games. Instead they put us on ABC/ESPN and the made us the only game on tv.

ABC/ESPN selected our home playoff game for 11:00 AM to avoid competing with 2 NFL games.

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders: 4:00 PM on Fox
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears: 7:20 PM on Fox

NFL Scores - Regular Season Week 16, 2025 - ESPN

TNT/HBO Max is airing that day's other two playoff games that feature one Group of 5 team each.
Tulane at Ole Miss 2:30 PM
James Madison at Oregon 6:30 PM

2025 College Football Playoff Bracket - ESPN

We have a lot of players who aren't early risers. Miami on ETZ, like S Carolina.

We got the game because TNT picked 3rd and 4th.

So you know their executives are not happy with the games both being projected blow outs.

If this scenario were tu vs Canes and the game was in Austin, all the BAS Ags would be crying about sip favoritism. Lol.

From ESPN……

"They can win if...: Mike Elko's pass defense is one of the best in the country, allowing 182.8 points per game"

I can't see the Canes losing if they get 183 points thru the air. That puts a heavy burden on the offense.

Since the playoffs started, the majority of the games have been blowouts, so nothing new there.

What is it for conference games only vs scrub OOC games?
Most 11 am games usually involve a bottom feeder team. I bet our 11 am record sucks when facing viable opponents

This.

Goodness TNT has got to be pissed! Both of their games have 2-3 score spreads and going against the NFL on Over The Air broadcast.

TNT knew (or should have known) what they were getting when they sublicenced from espn

According to Google AI, NO they will not be at CFP events

Quote:

College GameDay and the College Football Playoff
Upcoming Appearances
ESPN's College GameDay will not be at the College Football Playoff (CFP) games themselves. However, it will cover significant events leading up to the playoffs, including conference championships.

They did not know both games would be bad. If Miami had won the ACC like they should have, one of the Gabe's would at least had a nice match up.

We're also the only interesting game that day. Nobody gives a crap about Tulane and James Madison getting pummeled

True, but the ACC's incompetence means that they got stuck with two dud games rather than one. If the ACC had tiebreaker rules that put Miami in the conference championship game, then you'd have Ole Miss hosting Notre Dame, instead of Tulane (who would be playing at Oregon). If that was on offer, ESPN might have taken Ole Miss/ND for the 11 am game.
