A CFP committee certainly brings more drama and intrigue, but the last couple of weeks before selection Sunday are absolutely insufferable.

These coaches are insufferable, and they make these ridiculous pushes because they know they can have some level of influence over the Committee idiots

If the computer rankings use ridiculous metrics like total opponent w-l without in anyway trying to normalize those for quality, then it would likely make things worse.

Throw in a criterion on roster composite talent. W/L, Opp W/L, SOS, SOR, etc. Have multiple variations and then take an average of all the rankings.

Well then that proves the point that they should just do that because all this "gutsy 4th down" crap is annoying and a waste of time. The rankings should also be a running ticker that anyone can see at all times and updates in real time. Give coaches a target to work against. Also, in there was a human poll element built into the BCS computer rankings.. there should be zero human element. Only human intervention would need 90% approval from each conference or some other method to make a manual adjustment given something obviously erroring out

It's not a secret anymore. It's already been exposed. Yet people on here are continually shocked.

This year I am thankful of the committee because the committee is going to rank teams by the number in the "loss" column which benefits A&M
Ags have looked not great in November which is why we are behind most of the other 1 loss teams
I am just glad we aren't being directly compared to all the 2 loss teams because a computer might put us behind several 2 loss teams resulting in the Ags being the 9 seed or possibly out of the playoffs

The playoffs we broke LSU and the collateral damage has possibly wrecked Ole Miss.

Bama ain't what they used to be and tu is adjusting to SEC ball but far from invincible

What's crazy to me is that the reason we're #7 is because of a phantom holding call against Arkansas and the ill-advised lateral against USC.

Those 2 inconsequential plays matter more than back to back road demolitions of LSU and Mizzou.

What matters is being 11-1 exactly how we got there is less important

• i like it, 24 team playoff based off all vetted and robust ranking metrics combined for one universal ranking
• none of this waiting around BS
• eliminate CC games, go directly into playoffs, no byes, get this wrapped up by Jan 4
• push signing day and portal back to early feb
• allow players to be on campus up to 6 months before enrolling in classes

Looks like a good test case for AI. Maybe a new composite or average of Grok, Open AI, and Chat GPT. If AI can't get this right, time to move on and burst that bubble.
