It was extremely frustrating and disheartening to watch that loss versus the sips. Everything i expected to see did not happen.
I didn't recognize the team because we didn't do any of what we are good at nor what we typically do.
I don't care about our seed. A home game would be ideal but I don't care which team we play. If we are going to be champions, if we are good enough to win the championship, then we have to beat whomever. To hell with the rankings. Line 'em up and prove it.

We aren't. Just saving you the suspense.

I'll be thrilled if we can rebound and win a playoff game. But I don't believe we're true contenders, so not going to use title as my threshold for a successful season.

Agreed it was a fun season but this team has too many flaws to advance far in the playoffs.

Crapping the bed on the biggest stages at critically important times is as much a tradition at A&M as Bonfire. It's what we do, what we've always done. Brace yourself and arm yourself with realistic expectations.

I had barely cared most of the season and kept getting sucked in more over time. And at the same time was not really enjoying because this outcome was predictable. I'd told a friend earlier in the season that they'd let us down eventually. For weeks, he kept telling me "they didn't let you down". And I said multiple times "they will."

I've also said many times that I won't really believe until they are holding up the trophy. They are making progress and might be closer than ever. But just like the Cowboys and Rangers being so bad it didn't matter. Then the Rangers finally won. That gave me a little hope for the Ags. Its just hard to keep getting let down.

We have very good TEs to do this but Marcel likes to force into triple and sometimes quadruple coverage. He also refuses to use his feet early in a game. Do what you did to LSU. Use your feet early on and make the defense hesitate on every snap.

He is 117th in the nation in uncatchable pass rating. 25% of his passes are rated as uncatchable. It's bad.

It's been covered up by our outstanding WRs and a pretty good OL.

If someone approached you in August with an offer to go 11-1 and get a playoff game at Kyle, you would have taken it before they could finish their sentence. I'd wager that you wouldn't have considered that "realistic expectations" to begin with.

If we get to play North Texas in the first round, I think we win easily. If we get to play Texas Tech in the 2nd round, I think we have a good chance (but far from a easy win). But I agree that when we come up against a truly strong team (Georgia, Ohio State, even Alabama), we are not likely to win. But with the right draw, we could win a couple of games in the Playoffs.

Either way, it was a better season than anyone reasonable would have expected. We were better than expected and had a very fortuitous schedule. But we are not a Championship level team.

Interesting that only one team in all of college football can have a good season. The other 135 FBS teams just wasted their time so that one champion can be remembered.

Seems like the exact opposite of how things work in real life, but you do you, I suppose.

Nothing has really changed . Just win and the goal is still in front of us. Who wouldn't have signed up for a first round playoff game at Kyle Field before the season?

Seemingly, the very large part of our idiot fan base that would rather beat Texas than win a NC.

I would wager it's at least half if not more, but I obviously have no way to prove that. If this board is representative of the overall fan base, I think I'm right.

So I guess clutch game winning TD drive at ND, 8 minute drive to put away Florida, 2nd half at LSU, 2nd half against SC, etc don't matter anymore huh. This team has crapped the bed one time but all those other moments were also season-defining moments. They've had many more moments where they've succeeded under pressure. I think they will be better for it in the playoff.

I feel like we're back where we started n early September:

- an OL that can't move the LOS
- a QB that can't get the ball to the open receiver
- an OC with questionable play calling
- a defense prone to several WTF? plays

Yup. This is what BAS is. I would LOVE to see the stats over the last 30 years where the Ags are ranked and playing a similar ranked team and they came out on top.

It's losing on the steps of actually being great every time.

That said, this is a good football team. Maybe they can figure a few things out and win a few playoff games.

The Ags did take a step forward this season. Just not as big as we all had hoped.

I see a program that is building, with stair step improvement for each of the 2 seasons that Elko has been head coach.

The Ags had a bad game against the sips. That loss could actually help the team get it together. (But it also might mean that other teams have figured us out. If that is the case, then it's up to the coaches to scheme something new.)

I'm interested in how they react going forward, not just in the playoffs, but next season as well.

Manziel never won a division title. He never played or won a conference title. He never sniffed playing for or winning a national Title. Did you not enjoy that? We have been mediocre for decades, I can enjoy a good season. The sips have loads of good players and they whipped us. Move on.
