Anyone going to the sip game and know where you will park? Would like to park where there are some other Aggies.

Best advice is get to a parking garage somewhere, and uber the rest of the way. The amount of homeless coming for you is going to look like The Walking Dead. Austin is not safe past 9 pm downtown as well.

History museum, and next to the state cap has parking that's covered, but still a walk to that toilet they call stadium. outside of those and the hotels around that will charge you about 30 bucks, good luck.

Might think about parking at a hotel in Kyle or an HEB somewhere outside the go zone. Uber from there?

Don't buy into to the "danger" hype. It's an unhelpful exaggeration based on a stereotype. The entire area around campus and downtown (other than 6th street) is pretty benign. If you just want to come in for the game and then leave to head back out of town, there are some parking lots on the East side of 35 near Manor Road and between Manor and MLK. These that will allow you park and find a decent place to eat or cocktail and then exit town east, south or north outside of the traffic carnage post game Your other options might be to find a city garage in or around 17th avenue just south of the campus and MLK. There are several public garages in this area as well and a number of bars / restaurants.

Uber or Waymo are good options, but you really would be well served to get away from the stadium by walking .5-1 mile before trying to pick one up, otherwise you will be waiting forever and still stuck in traffic. You'll make better time on foot until you get out of the post-game traffic blast zone.

Tons of low key restaurants / bars around East Austin / Manor worthy of posting up pre-game. That said - if you've never been to the stadium and want something to do pre-game, you can park and walk down Manor Road or Dean Keaton Road toward the LBJ Library lawn by the big fountain. They usually have a live concert about 2 hours before kickoff and tons of food / drink concessions. This week, Big & Rich will be performing a free concert. The lawn makes for a great mini-amphitheater and it's within a 3 minute walk to the north side of the stadium. I'd recommend getting a group of your friends to meet you there and post-up with live music and food / drinks pre-game. There are other good food and drink options all around the stadium as well.

Just wait until mid 3rd quarter and the parking lots will empty quick

I'll be there, garage next to the stadium. Best bet may be to park close by and uber or pedi cab to the stadium

Ain't no way I'd go that hell hole. I did it for 18 years, alternating each years game with a t-sip buddy of mine. They're disgusting and horrible fans and that entire place smells like piss.

I hear they are begging for you to park it in the back in Austin.

Yep, sips offer free parking in the rear. Just look for the rainbow flag, to avoid it.

I stopped going back in the 90s when walking through a lot saw several vehicles with Aggie stickers with slashed tires. Gameday experience at Texas is awful anyway compared to other venues - fickle fans there to see and be seen, empties if they are losing, leave at halftime to go drink and come back whenever, etc. Just not worth it to me. Of course, happy with our gameday at Kyle Field, but for reference to away games, Florida, Auburn, Clemson and even a day at Missouri blows sip college football game day experience out of the water.

Local Austinite advice. I would first look for a State garage - should be able to find info/locations online. DKR is near the Capitol complex and the walk will be fine before and after the game. Ride Shares will be very expensive post-game. I would be selective where you park east of 35 and the area called West Campus (where the high rise dorms are). Both can be shady.

There is a free concert before the game on the lawn of the LBJ Library (Big & Rich). AFS & Capital City Aggie Club have lots of activities beginning at noon on Congress for March In then followed by tailgates (info on social sites). JM is hosting a pre-game party at Speakeasy on Congress.

I've been going to the game for a long, long time. There will be plenty of a-holes but there will also be some welcoming sips too.

Seems like you never worked downtown Austin, and haven't been up on local policy. You also confirmed west campus and east of 35 are shady, and confirmed parking garages. Sit down rook

You're not doing your colleagues any favors and apparently aren't reading too closely, as nothing in my notes validated your hysteria. It's your personal privilege to vent your spleen towards Texas all you want, but when it comes to game experience advise, try to be objective for the benefit of visiting Aggie fans. Don't be an online stereotype,as it doesn't reflect well on your institution. Weather will be good. Parking options as discussed are available. Visiting fans, similar to other venues, will be treated well. As you have demonstrated, those looking for a grievance, manufactured or otherwise, will likely find it.

I stole a no-parking sign from t.u. campus after we beat them in '94.

I got a garage parking pass months ago in the San Jacinto garage. It's pretty close. Probably going to be a nightmare to get out of but oh well.
