I think he's probably gone, but the longer LSU is focused on Kiffin the worse for them. That would be the reason Ole Miss would want this to drag out

All it will take is one recruit between now and then to ask Lane if he is going or staying, and then leak it…

In today's world a week might as well be 12 months. Wayy too many people involved to try and keep a lid on him leaving.

Agree. Very bad optics. But I understand the AD's reasoning here. Ole Miss has an outside chance of making the CCG which would be a virtual lock into the playoff. But that is also assuming the CFP Committee stays the course and doesn't penalize them for losing the CCG or for losing their HC.

This year, that's a big assumption, IMO. Don't trust them at all.
