"I find myself in a season of life where I need to prioritize my faith and my family with an intentional focus that requires me to move on from my role as caretaker of this great athletics program," Rhoades said in a statement on Thursday night.

Along with stepping away from Baylor, Rhoades also left his role as chair of the College Football Playoff selection committee.

Is this all fallout for disrespecting a player on the sideline?

Right out of The Big Book of Quotes, for when you've perhaps broken the 6th Commandment.

Season of my life is a good one though. I might borrow that.

It is entirely possible to put a high priority on faith, family, and career without compromising your integrity and morals. People do it all the time and do it well. It absolutely can be done.
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

What do you expect from baylol? Briles and his bordello, Bliss getting players to lie about a murder. Should have shutdown the whole athletic department for ten years.

Breaking news: Grant Teaff was no saint, himself.

Which one of you leaked the story about his affair?

Lots of Ags were mad about his connection to IU and being at Baylor and keeping us 3.

Never think someone doesn't know what you are doing. Someone always knows and the more power you get, the more people you become enemies with. This guy I bet made someone mad who leaked to a TexAg poster about the affair that made it public to get them off the board.

He is a huge Richard and caused a scene with their best player and a position coach right at kickoff. Cussed at the player and then when the position coach stood up for the player, Rhoades called them into his office the next day demanding an apology.

That was the catalyst for him getting his dirty laundry aired in order to be fired.

he may be right in the season of his life; just glad that he's right OUT of the season of OUR lives!

Yes. But then you don't have to quit a high paying job. You quit when you've lost focus on faith and family and been embarassed such that your career asks you to leave.
