I like how Elko can joke with the guys. "I don't know who our quarterback was playing for in the first half, but I don't know who he was playing for the second half!" That was awesome

Watch the Aggie hour show from Rudy's. Coach Elko outright laughs at the idea of a halftime fire and brimstone speech. He describes a player led motivation and a productive "what needs to happen " deal.

He talks about this program doesn't even fit with an angry ranting speech mentality.

Probably too much real strategy talk to include it.

Absolutely. It made me miss my days coaching HS JV football.

I remember when Sumlin came on board was the first time I heard the term "players' coach." It was tossed around to several coaches who seemed to let their programs be player-run, and kept a loose leash on anything happening.

Elko gives a much different definition it seems. Accountability, high expectations, and high standards with discipline coming from a place of love and true caring not just about wins and losses, but the well-being of each member of the program.

At least that's how it seems to me.

This week's edition of The Pulse should've been called The Cardiac Arrest! It was really good either way.
