I now live in the northeast and have converted many here to watch the Aggies with me, as they don't have a college football team to root for. They love it when we win and have a good time watching the games. I often rely on them for an outsider's point of view about how they feel about the team, so not everything is seen through my maroon-tinted glasses.

This year in particular, here is the feedback:
- A&M has been extremely fun to watch.
- Overall, the ups and downs and the comebacks make this team lovable and entertaining from their POV - we are never out of it
- We are hard to measure for how good we are and how far we can actually go (they believe and want us to go all the way, but the up-and-down rollercoaster, sometimes playing to the opponent's level, etc is the thing thats the hardest to evaluate)
- It's understandable why everyone/media is having a hard time ranking us mentally at 3 (they believe we are top 5 for sure, but also get why it's hard to just judge us based on results)
- We can win a gritty fight, we can turn it on when we want, and we have the talent. But, the inconsistency and unpredictability of those moments is why everyone in the country has a hard time justifying us at 1 through 3 that isn't from A&M or the SEC.
- Giving Elko a raise, was the right move - keeping our best assistants and coordinators around is going to be the real definer of how long this new era lasts
