When KState or Kansas is no longer your toughest road game, reality sets in year in and year out.

Doesn't look much harder than the average SEC schedule.

For a ranked SEC team?

That's a pretty realistic possibility of a 7 loss season in 2026. They'll get some calls and breaks and win a couple, but if the teams are similar to what they are this year in 2026, there's a good possibility they lose to all of these teams.

2026 Schedule
Home Games: Ohio State, Oklahoma (Cotton), Ole Miss
Road Games: LSU, Mizzou, Tenn, A&M

Not to mention any other SEC team has the potential to beat them any given Saturday (see Florida, Kentucky, and Miss State this year).

I think there will be a 16 team playoff in the next couple of years. At that point you can be a 3-loss SEC team with a tough schedule and still get in. Even in a tough year, you are unlikely to play more than 6-7 legitimately good teams. So beat all of the decent to bad teams, split games with the good teams and you can be in.

None of those schedules look like A&M's 2025 schedule.

Sark also knows he's stuck with Arch next year -- a non-elite QB -- and that's a big problem

There is too much projection based on future schedules. The 2025 AP preseason poll had A&M playing:

at #1 (Texas)
at #6 (ND)
at #9 (LSU)
vs #13 (South Carolina)
vs #15 (Florida)
at #32 (Missouri receiving votes)
vs #37 (Auburn receiving votes)

Trying to look at school names and projecting their form in 2-3 years is a fool's errand. It's not even possible to project form a month before the season begins.

We've already seen and heard from him on the 2025 football schedule, playing ranked teams, road scheduling, and from the outside looking in, and being familar with SEC scheduling of past, I say "you've had it easy"

BUT, after realizing it won't be a cake walk, he will be facing tougher teams year to year, I can see a scenario where he wants an easier journey to the CFP, and doesn't want to endure 7-5, or 8-4 seasons that would harm his resume.

Look at the 2026-2028 longhorn schedule - it a true gauntlet

2026 Schedule

Tough Home Games: Ohio State, Oklahoma (Cotton), Florida, Ole Miss
Tough Road Games: LSU, Mizzou, Tenn, A&M

2027 Schedule

Tough Home Games: Michigan, Georgia, A&M
Tough Road Games: Bama, South Carolina, Oklahoma (Cotton), Vandy

2028 Schedule

Tough Home Games: Oklahoma (Cotton), LSU, Mizzou, Tenn
Tough Road Games: Notre Dame, Florida, Ole Miss, A&M

Unless you have a full roster of 5-stars, motivated, and lighting the world on fire, you aren't going through that schedule and making SEC title game or playoff... even with Saban at the helm.

I can see why he might want out before the juggernaut hits...

The fact that you had to put '(Cotton)' in parentheses makes you look like an idiot. We all know where that game is played.

The divisions he was using was home and road games, so noting one is actually a neutral site game makes sense. And we know better than anyone that neutral site games can change to home and home.

The fact that you had to respond just to call a fellow Ag an idiot for providing external context makes you what? A jerk? an a@@hole?

Be better dude... or come see me at the next home game and tell me what an idiot I am.

Texas 2024 and 2025 schedule is easier than A&M's over that time. LSU just fell off, so weakened our schedule strength.

Light years harder than 1st 2 years in the league... let's be honest. They got a soft entry.

Their entry schedule for the first two years was easy. Particularly the first year. Look at the teams on the schedule and when and where they played them. I don't think they hit the road for an away SEC game until game until the latter part of October.

Vandy will find it's way back to the bottom of the SEC once Pavia is gone. Then again he could play until 2027 and beyond

If they wanted to enjoy playing no one but OU during the regular season, they could have.

They got a miracle schedule last year (like ours this year). But reality is about to slam into their face.
