Well we might be at 4 in the final ranking after the SEC champ game so you might get your wish.

I haven't played around with the tools that tell you who might make the SEC championship games, but let's say it's us vs. Bama and we lose....I'm assuming the committe would move Georgia ahead of us, but would they drop us out of the top 4? For example, put Tech in at #4 if they win the Big12?
They might and I think that is a load of BS.
I mean Tech lost to ASU who Miss St beat.

I know Tech is good but sure looks like #4 Georgia would get the easiest first round game of the bye teams if that was the bracket.

Tech grad chiming in here.
I think A&M wants in at 3. Tech is better than Miami and Ole Miss. By a lot. Add all the coaching drama with Ole Miss and you'll do well against either of those.
Georgia looks very good and I would rather Tech line up against IU or OSU than Georgia. But Tech will give Georgia all it wants, should the current bracket come to pass (which it won't).
Congrats to you Ags on an incredible season so far. Hope we get to play you at some point.

The #3 feels better this week than last

To be fair I have not seen Tech play much this year. But I think the SEC is a much tougher conf. Don't see how you can think Tech is way better than Miami and Ole Miss. But maybe we will find out.
Off on a tangent but you said Tech was without qb1 against ASU so that loss shouldn't count much. But I find that funny as Penn State was without their QB1 but Indiana got all kinds of kudos for beating them.

Congrats on Tech's season. I haven't watched them much but will tune in if they are in the Big 12 champ game.
I have a feeling the committee would love to match up Tech vs A&M if they are able to.

That's wild that Tulane is now projected to be in the playoff before Houston, after UH spent so much effort and money to leave the American conference for the BigXII - for a shot at the playoffs - and hired Willy Fritz away from Tulane.

Tech has the best defensive front 7 in the nation. Two unanimous mid-season All Americans and four consensus. Rodriguez is the #1 graded player in the country per PFF, on offense or defense. David Bailey has more sacks that Georgia. There will be two or maybe three first round draft picks from that team, and four will be drafted at some point.
Tech has a balanced top 10 offense with a power running threat and top 10 defense. #1 against the run, #3 scoring, etc... Tech hasn't been winning games - they have been destroying everyone in their path, with the sad exception of the ASU game as mentioned. Tech blew out #11 at home and #12 on the road. If you haven't watched this Tech team, you're missing out on something pretty cool.
Tech could absolutely lose to any team in the quarterfinals. But that could be said of any team, I think. Regardless, this Tech team doesn't resemble any Tech team you've ever seen. It's easily the best Tech team that Tech's ever fielded. It's not even close, in my humble estimation. This defense especially is incredible.
For my part, A&M worries me more than any other team in the top 10 because of Reed. Tech has had a hard time with dual threat QBs this year. Tech's won games this year by grinding down the other team. A&M's offense would be the best Tech has faced.
I've watched Tech a couple of times this year and they looked really good. Would be an interesting matchup if we meet you guys at some point.

The final top 4 is going to be this assuming the top 4 seeds win out.
1 Big 10 champ winner
2 SEC champ winner
3 Big 10 champ loser
4 SEC champ loser

Has Tech even played a half decent OL? How do we know that Dline is actually good if all they've done is beat up on Oklahoma State, undersized and low talent Utah and BYU, and the rest of the mediocre Big 12?
