It's crazy that we went into the Longhorn game 8-3 last year with a win-and-you're-in situation for the championship game. Now, a year later, we'll be 11-0 and be in the exact same situation.

Yes but we were 5-2 in conference and iirc Georgia was undefeated and everybody ( except us ) had a loss to GA and 1 wtf loss creating a log jam at 2 losses plus the usual carnage OU v tu , UT v Bama , Florida v LSU etc somebody is taking the loss

We dodged a WTF loss on Saturday and for the most part there have been very few of those Danes creating a lot of 1 loss teams

tu is unable to eliminate either of their two SEC losses, at least I hope not.

Uh-oh. What if their fans get cranky and start throwing bottles onto DKR Field?? I think I read somewhere that in the event that happens, they're allowed to vacate one of their conference losses.

Please confirm.

I work with a guy who is a Georgia grad. He constantly talks about how we need to lose, because Georgia shouldn't be kept out of the CCG just because of a 3-point loss to Bama.

Yesterday, he said something lamenting how A&M should have "helped Georgia" by just taking the L against SC. I told him General Sherman is more interested in helping Georgia than we will ever be.

The biggest problem with divisions is that you don't necessarily get the best 2 teams in the championship game. Your top 3 teams in the west could be: 8-0, 7-1,7-1
Your top 3 teams in the east could be: 6-2, 6-2, 5-3

How is it fair to the 7-1 teams to get left out and a 6-2 team go to the SECCG?

This is what happened in the Big12 in 2004. Colorado won the North division with a 4-4 conference record. Only one team (Baylor) in the South division had a worse conference record.

The question of how the hell we figure out who goes to the SEC title was bugging me too. Suppose in time it will become more intuitive to me. But damn.... E=MC2

Finally just AIed it...
