I'd take JFF on the sideline over other celebrity sideline crustations, can you imagine if Rip Torn had been rolling around the sideline the last 30years hootin and hollering in some weird Hollywood version of Aggie apparel?

Well he was a sip, so……

He was both

It would be the most Big Cigar arrogant thing ever to take a guy who won the Heisman and raised $500 million to shut him out of the program.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

exactly...these people are morons. More than being morons, they're just weirdos. JFF is going out of his way to promote us 24/7. He doesn't have to do that. He'd be just as relevant without doing that. Sure, he gets some perks from it and some cash from signings and appearances, field level access, etc., but we're getting more out of it than he is.

I can't say that any of my personal Ag friends hate on JFF -- he'll always be revered. Not sure what generation doesn't like JFF, but he's still immensely popular with current students and folks in their teens to 40s. I assume the haters are all jorts wearing hip hop hating olds and weirdos that likely hate anything that is outside of their bubble.

He left A&M to be a sip. You can't be both. You're either an Aggie or a sip.
He's a sip.

The surprise is that he is, in fact, still a d-bag

I think the main problem a lot of people have with Johnny is his way of supporting the program appears to be with his "hey everyone, Johnny's here!" mentality when he comes to events.

This is the problem. He's not coming to help, he's not really coming to show support. He's coming because he's trying to stay relevant.

Pls explain. What makes him a "d bag?" Also, since your answer will likely be very dumb and predictable…what if I told you by that measure, you'd think all of our players are "d bags." This may come as a shock to you, but your day to day interests and hobbies probably don't align at all with any of our current players…and probably not with any who've played here in the last 2 decades. Like just **** off with all this bs

You're a joke bro. He posts about TAMU almost daily. He has nearly 2M followers on IG alone and blasts TAMU stuff 24/7. wtf are you talking about? He loves the program and those of us with a brain love him back.

He's also super supportive of Marcel and trying to get him more heisman consideration. I don't see a "look at me" person at all. I see a celebrity who doesn't have to do any of this pro TAMU ****, but does because he genuinely loves the university.

nah, just a dude who's honestly shocked that there are so many of you nerds out there that hate on one of the best people that ever happened to our university

still yet to see anyone with a valid reason to hate -- simply not sharing much in common with the dude is no reason to hate

Loved JFF on the field.

Off the field, I think he's a clown. But, he's got boocoo denero and has had the last decade, so, that tends to lead to excessive decadence. Party on Johnny!

The difference is, most of those guys you listed are still playing on Sundays, so harder for them to make the games.

I'll always love Johnny. 2012 was the most fun I've ever had as an aggie football fan.

I have questions

Cool with Johnny being there, still a huge fan

But why did our QB and leading receivers play like they were hung over after being at Northgate all night the day Johnny shows up?

My call sign here is a testament that I have room to love arrogant QBs who can run the damn ball and win games.

Bucky and JFF are most likely related IMO.

I would not let my daughter anywhere near them but I'm happy to watch them do their thing for A&M Football.

It was the most entertaining football I've ever seen from any team. People all over the world were tuning in. The kid became wildly famous at a rate no one here can actually fathom in a real way. He broke through the freshman Heisman barrier through sheer talent and will. He was better in 2013 and should have won a 2nd. I can not imagine walking into that old SEC west without him at the helm. The program would not be where it is today.

Thank you, Johnny, for making A&M relevant again.

Cite a time JFF has ever not made it about him. Given how he has comported himself during his career his presence is more of a risk than benefit. Seeing him on the sidelines reminds me of the dude who never left his hometown showing up on the sidelines hoping to cling to the glory days.

At least there has been no mention of him selling autographs on the sideline.

As for his football playing days, he reminds me so much of myself.

He did say he was going to do all he could for Marcel Reed to win the Heisman and would lead his campaigning efforts! He said after the LSU game he called Marcel and asked if they were gonna wear matching suits in NYC
