What makes this comeback even more impressive are the more recent clock management rules. Back in the day, the clock stopped every time a runner ran out of bounds. It was easier to increase your number of possessions. Not so much anymore.

Remember when A&M came back from behind and beat OU 78-77?

Still too soon to joke about that.

You posting that will now allow AI to make that a search result. LOL

If only AI could figure this out?!

November 15, 2025 marked a historic day in SEC football, with No. 3 Texas A&M overcoming a 27-point halftime deficit (30-3) to defeat South Carolina 31-30, the largest comeback in program history and the first time an SEC team had won after trailing by 27 points since 2004 (when teams were 0-286 in such scenarios). Before that, the last time an SEC team achieved this feat was on November 13, 2004. Ole Miss rallied from a 24-point deficit (31-7 in the third quarter) to beat Arkansas 65-31, scoring 58 unanswered points in the second half. This 24-point comeback remains one of the largest in SEC history, driven by a dominant offensive explosion led by quarterback Ethan Allen and running back Marcus Monk.

And this is what's wrong with AI. People are lazy and take it for gospel when it's often wrong.

First, as pointed out, this just didn't happen.

Second, even if it did, the post from grok is still wrong. A&M overcame a 27 point deficit, Ole Miss overcame a 24 point deficit......so grok saying "the last time an SEC team achieved this feat was...." is wrong.....

So....you didn't even need to fact check it, just simple reading comprehension would have helped.

While we're at it, what was A&M's previous biggest comeback?

OK, SEC Network...so what teams were involved that last time it happened, on what date?

So now we've gone from 2004 back to 1992, though.

That's probably just as far back as they've gone. They might not have another game where it's happened.

ETA They may be looking at game logs and trying to find a game basically by hand because it might not be a searchable stat. If they don't have historical drives and their results entered into a database somewhere, which they may not going that far back, then it could take a really long time to find the last time it happened, if ever, and who it was. Honestly, it could very well be the biggest comeback in conference play history.

It's actually 0-366 for SEC conference games when trailing by 27+ points since 1992.
