He is now currently 61% on FGs this year.

This is a problem.

This is a MASSIVE problem for a D1 program.

We have 50000 undergrads. Can we not do some open tryouts? You can't convince me he's the best kicker on our campus.

Kicking FG's in practice is easy. It's suddenly you're in front of 105,000 fans and it actually matters and it's not so easy.

Great, we have 2 games of no consequence coming up to get the jitters out

if you think about it if he were better the last minute heroics vs ND would have been a FG attempt for a tie at the end of regulation.

I would have taken his helmet away after the second missed FG.

Funny thing is, I texted my Aggie football text group "he's gonna miss this" before the 16 yard miss. Every single thing that could have gone wrong for A&M in that first half went wrong. Interceptions, dropped passes, missed tackles, 3rd and long conversions allowed, etc, etc…..he was destined to miss it.

But back to the OP….I agree that he's a liability at the point. The offense can't afford another slow start/bad half. Gotta have TD's from here on out.

Bond has been decent when we don't really need the points.
When the pressure is on, he isn't getting the job done.
Let the kickoff guy go for the field goals if we have to go for one.
Otherwise, go for it, Or short punt. Either way it would be better than him trying for a field goal when we need it.

Been saying this all year about Bond.. Somebody let the staff know you don't only have to recruit football players to kick for you in college. There are soccer players in high school that can kick the heck out of the ball with accuracy that would rather play for a top football program than a middle of the road college soccer team.

Go for it. Every reasonable 4th down. There is no other way.

But yea...dude has to improve in game situations or he has to go. He can't be this bad in clutch situations if we want to make any sort of playoff run.

Randy was a HS soccer player who walked on at A&M

His inaccurate kicking will not be fixed. It's like a layup for his missed short kick and easier than a 3 for this 35+ yd that he misses.

He has been here.

He isn't new.

We don't have the coaches to fix him.

Did not realize this. Definitely better ones out there though

They did recruit kickers and one had beat out Bond early in the year, but got injured and disappeared.

On the bright side, he's never missed an extra point in his four years.
