Most respectful fanbases I've experienced:

1. Nebraska- met some fans at Northgate after the 9-6 Victory and they were really nice, weren't talking trash, just generally good people! Their fanbase is known for being respectful in general.

2. Texas - it was a cold November day in tha ATX and some sip that had a tailgate going let me and my Aggie fans stand by the fire and gave us all beers. Class act.

Imo it's the t-shirt sip fans that are the worst. Most of the people that actually attended there have been reasonable fans and even surpassed expectations for kindness at times.

3. Kansas State - they didn't talk trash about Johnny when Klein was also in the running for Heisman. They were just respectful people.

Most disrespectful fanbases:

1. Tech - almost got in a fight with a Tech fan in the stands at Kyle Field while my friend was there rooting for Tech! Not positive my friend even had my back either!!

2. Oklahoma - an Aggie friend was talking to these OU girls at a bar before the 2013 Cotton Bowl and then their boyfriends came up to us and started talking mad trash about A&M. I had to pull my friend away from getting in a fight with them!

Also when I went to the game in Normon in 2007 the fans were really rude: heckled us, threw stuff at us, etc

3. Notre Dame - fans talked mad trash that Mantei Te'o was a better player than Johnny during his Heisman year. Their fans are arrogant too

Good and bad what's been your personal experience?

My only experience with Ohio St fans was at the Sugar Bowl in 1999, and they were great in my experience. Of course we lost, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Worst by 100 miles was LSU in 1988 I believe. Night game, went with 12th Man Foundation and people were throwing empty liquor bottles at us and came over to the 12 Man buses, got on each side, and started rocking them while we were inside. Still the absolute craziest thing I can remember being a part of. I would never go back to that stadium.

You lost me at tu.

Although I do agree actual tu attenders are much more reasonable than Wal-Mart attenders.

Bad:
Ohio State
LSU

TCEH
Baylol

Good:
Nebraska
I'm sure there are other good, but I can't think of any.

i've heard that about baylor fans, but have no personal experience on that.

only time I went to Waco for a game was 1995. I'd estimate 80% of the fans there were aggies

Colorado and Baylor - nearly as bad.
Sips, Pigs, and Sooners - close.

LSU is terrible, easily the worst (and they are proud of it)

I actually had good experiences with ND fans on our trip to South Bend this year. They poked a little fun but nothing rude or aggressive like I have experienced in Baton Rouge

The Good:; Nebraska, 2007 in Lincoln. I still brag about those fans and their hospitality. (Clemson a close second)
The Bad: Arkansas. Worst was a basketball game at Barnhill in 1978.
The Ugly: Colorado. Women with armpit hair. It's a bummer.

Most respectful is BYU in my experience. If I'm being honest, the only bad experiences I've seen are Tech and LSU although Colorado seems to get a lot of votes around here.

Just by my experience:

Nebraska: went to Big 12 championship game in 1997. All the Husker fans were cool.

Sips: went to the game in Austin in 2000. The sips out in town the night before and game day were cool. The sips at the game sitting around us were a bunch of dooosh nozzles. Although that could be partly my fault as they were giving us a hard time as we took our seats and I gave them the "horns down" sign. All bets were off after that I guess.

Wake Forest: went to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte 2018. All the WF fans I interacted with were very nice.

Never had any issues with opposing fans at the games I attended in Aggieland.

I know TAMU fans have a reputation of being very cordial to opposing fans (I know I always have been respectful myself) but I'm sure we have our own share of dick wads as well.

Colorado

Went to the game in 2021 mile high and my father who was 74 and me 44 were just walking back to the car were verbally assaulted by 30+ students. We didn't try to walk through a group, we avoided eye contact, we said nothing and they were yelling all kind of profanity at us. Just had our A&M shirts on trying to walk back go the car. They are special bunch.

Texas

I have heard both good and bad but have only seen the bad. I was at the Ricky Williams game when he broke the rushing record. I was at A&M at the time and was with my girlfriend, also and Aggie, and her parents. Once again walking back to the car after the game was over and being verbally assaulted by t-sips who weren't just happy with winning.

This is real easy:

1.) lsu
They are all three equally bad. Arrogant, entitled and classless jackwagons all.

Baylor fans are the most delusional Ive ever seen. I have lived in Waco my entire life and they are by far the worst. You could ask 100 Baylor grads about Art Briles and these so called religious people would claim he was framed vs allowing students to be raped by his players

OU, Baylor, and Tech can go to hell. Never had a problem with Arkansas nor Iowa State.

The good:
  • South Carolina - Used to live in the Carolinas so we caught every football and baseball game in Columbia we could. Always treated very well. We were also treated great at Clemson. It may just be that people from South Carolina are really nice.
  • Honorable mention: Alabama - went to the 2012 game and have never been treated better by an opposing fan base (when we've won). The Bama fans were the most gracious I've ever seen, but it was my only experience with them.
The bad:
  • LSU - the sorest losers in CFB. They are STILL mad about the 7 OT game. Plus back in the day you seriously had to watch out for flying Jack Daniels bottles.
  • OU - Back in SWC days I used to think the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but then I finally met them. Just detestable people. Plus, despite all their bluster they always do exactly what daddy Bevo wants. Got no respect for them at all.
Special mention for the sips - This won't be popular here, but they really are a mixed bag. Their online contingent is truly vile, and their t-shirt fans are the trash of the state. But those that went there (or who could have been admitted) I've always had good experience with. I live in the Hill Country so I'm surrounded by them. There is of course banter (would be boring if there wasn't), but it's always good natured. At least that's my experience.

Good:

K-state - been to game their stadium in manhattan and also was at the '98 championship game. Both times, fans were incredible.
LSU - i know my experience is different, but I went when LSU was not good, which probably made a huge difference. We were invited to tailgates and given as much food and beer as we could consume. Fans in the stadium were talking trash, but in good sport and we were all laughing together while talking trash.
Tennessee - had a GREAT time in knoxville. Fans were super welcoming. Only had one interaction with an a-hole, but it had nothing to do with me being an opposing fan. He was a complete dick to both my buddies who were with me at the game who are ohio state grads and were not wearing A&M gear.

Bad:

texas - though i wouldn't even say they were terrible, just not great. Only time i went in austin was the Ricky Williams game.

I went to an FSU v UF game in the swamp. I was utterly disgusted by the things I heard by some fellow Seminoles a few rows back. They attempted to pick a fight with a family that was just trying to enjoy the game. Also remember sitting in the student section at Doak and being super underwhelmed by the experience compared to Kyle field.

Was happy to take my Wife to the LSU game last year and let her experience the glory of the 12th man.

I have attended roughly 70 A&M games in my lifetime. Only once have I ever gotten into a true confrontation with another fan. And I'm sorry to say that it was a fellow Aggie fan. We were sitting in the old Zone and this guy was being a complete drunken jerk to a family of Oklahoma State fans who were seated nearby. My daughter, who was about 12 at the time asked him to stop and he started cussing her. After that, I completely went off on the guy and we would have both been removed except that several other people in our section defended me to the security staff.

Cal Berkley, Sip, & CU Boulder fans...they stink.

Tbh most fans from other programs I have run into in College Station were always really friendly. Haven't had any bad experiences on that front.

Worst:
LSU, hands-down, no one else comes close to this trash. In the words of an alum that apologized over and over to me, during a game, about THEIR fanbase, "...this is the only sporting event the drunk coona**es can afford to attend, and the only team in the state that is mostly successful".

Best:
Ole Miss. The Grove has to be experienced. Oxford is charming. Always pleasant locals.

The best and worst for me was LSU in 2013. Before the game, it poured down rain, and they let my group into their shelters and fed us all cajun food. After the game, cussed us out and threw trash at us the whole walk back to the car. Even had a ~5 year old flip us off as his family cheered behind him.

As for the OU fans, just do what we did at the Cotton Bowl. "Oh you're from Plano? So you didn't get into A&M or tu, huh?"

The two worst I've seen in person was ND (last year) and tu. ND fans around us last year were talking **** the whole time, and not even about the game in a lot of cases. Very much like they were too good to be in CS and couldn't wait to leave.

At the tu game in 2011, there were a group of them that had gotten student tickets and wanted to run their mouth the whole game. One of them was one of the "Texas Cowboys" d-bags. He was a scrawny city kid that had no business dressing like a cowboy, which we made sure he knew. His response, multiple times, was "I'm a Texas Cowboy, and I'll kick your ass"

Nebraska and Florida were two that I remember having positive interactions with.

LSU - I watched young LSU fans harass a really old Ag at one of our home games in the 90s. Disgusting display.

Most respectful - Auburn (2012 Exceedingly impressed by JFF and 2013 A&M campus)

(By far) Least respectful - tu (Absolutely no humility in any of them)

I've only been to a handful of away games or bowl games to experience them in large enough numbers to know (home games probably not a good indicator)

tu - '84 and '04
Baylor - visited as a student in '85
Auburn - Cotton Bowl '85
Ohio St - Cotton Bowl, '86
Houston (in Astrodome) - late 80's or early 90's
Notre Dame - Cotton bowl '93
Penn St - Alamo Bowl '07
Bama - 2016
Auburn - 2018

Out of that group I would say Ohio St was the worst, followed by tu, then Penn St

Auburn folks (in 2018) were nice and kind of disappointed we lost because they thought it would give Malzan more time.

As far as being horrible guests, not hosts, goes, it is LSU and tard.

When I was in school (84-88), the only time there was trouble during a home game and things would get trashed on campus was for the LSU and tard games.

How crappy of fans do you have to be to take your bad behavior on the road.

Never went to a game in Baton Rouge, but I was there in Lubbock when they tore their goal posts down and jammed them into the visitors section when we were there, resulting in a huge brawl.

Sorry for tater quality video, but we didn't have smart phones back in those days.

The best while I was in school was probably Clemson back in 2004. I had the most ramshackle tailgate set up positioned in the red lot in front of Cain Hall. I got out there pretty early, the rest of the guys got there approximately 20 minutes before the game. So I ended up chatting and chewing with some Clemson folk nearby and let them use some of my grill space.

Best on the road is Auburn 2014. Stayed in a truly crap motel, but it was right behind Toomer's Corner. Group of Auburn people tailgated at that motel parking lot every year and welcomed us in. It was truly a weekend of wild stories. We want to go back to Auburn sometime.

Worst by far was Arkansas. We went in 2013. Constant heckling, cussing, throwing of empty beer cans.

I never attended any away games in school during Big 12 days because I was broke. We went to the New Years Day Cotton Bowl where we got shellacked by Tennessee. I don't recall how the fans were since we had the bright idea that we wouldn't make it to the game unless we stayed up all night New Years Eve drinking.
