Success?

Win more games (including playoff game wins) than ANY TEXAS AGGIE FOOTBALL TEAM HAS EVER WON IN A SINGLE SEASON.

15 wins before the end of Jan 2026 works for me...

4-0 is great

3-1 is acceptable because it would mean splitting the road games at Missouri and Texas and winning a November or later road win for the first time since 2020.

2-2 or worse is disappointing because it would mean losing both road games to Missouri and Texas and extending our November road losing streak to 9 games and our November road winning drought into 2026.

We have lost 4 consecutive November SEC games and 7 consecutive November road games since a 34-13 win at Tennessee on 12/19/2020.

11/13/2021: 29-19 loss at 10-3 (6-2 SEC) Ole Miss
11/27/2021: 27-24 loss at 6-7 (3-5 SEC) LSU
11/12/2022: 13-10 loss at 5-7 (2-6 SEC) Auburn
11/4/2023: 38-35 loss at 11-2 (6-2 SEC) Ole Miss
11/25/2023: 42-30 loss at 10-3 (6-2 SEC) LSU
11/2/2024: 44-20 loss at 9-4 (5-3 SEC) South Carolina
11/23/2024: 43-41 4-OT loss at 5-7 (2-6 SEC) Auburn

Hopefully, we snap both November losing streaks by beating Missouri on Saturday.

As coach Saban said, "It is never OK to lose a game!"

I'm an uber-realist. Not BAS and not a koolaid drinker either.

Honestly, as I watched our progression through LSU, I am now at losing any regular season game would be disappointing.
  • Missouri - Should win, their starting QB is out, other factors when comparing resumes.
  • So Car - Should win it at home.
  • Sam - No comment
That leaves Texas - I do think they are better than most on here would like to think. Not because they just beat a Vandy team that is having a Cinderella season. But the reality of it is they have a QB that is in his first year, like we had last year, who simply needs to learn the college game. I don't think he deserves any credit for his name sake, but he's like any other freshman QB in their first season. They lost to #1 in the first game of the season, and stubbed their toe at Florida (still an SEC school, and we didn't do exceptionally well against Auburn at home, if you want to compare). It's hard to say though they've been improving "a lot" this season. OT games against SEC teams not doing so well, for example.

All that to say Texas still has good talent and this will be a hard game at Texas. This is circled on their calendar as a "season saving" game. I do think "on paper" we win, so I will be disappointed for the season if we lose and go 11-1, not because it's Texas but because we should win it based on resumes.

4-0 = A
3-1 = C
Anything else = F

Only one loss, and healthy

3-1. But that one loss can only be to Mizzou. Any other loss could cause some panic. A loss to tu is just a morale killer for fans, but I think the players are tough enough to move past it to still succeed in the post-season
