I'm an uber-realist. Not BAS and not a koolaid drinker either.
Honestly, as I watched our progression through LSU, I am now at losing any regular season game would be disappointing.
- Missouri - Should win, their starting QB is out, other factors when comparing resumes.
- So Car - Should win it at home.
- Sam - No comment
That leaves Texas - I do think they are better than most on here would like to think. Not because they just beat a Vandy team that is having a Cinderella season. But the reality of it is they have a QB that is in his first year, like we had last year, who simply needs to learn the college game. I don't think he deserves any credit for his name sake, but he's like any other freshman QB in their first season. They lost to #1 in the first game of the season, and stubbed their toe at Florida (still an SEC school, and we didn't do exceptionally well against Auburn at home, if you want to compare). It's hard to say though they've been improving "a lot" this season. OT games against SEC teams not doing so well, for example.
All that to say Texas still has good talent and this will be a hard game at Texas. This is circled on their calendar as a "season saving" game. I do think "on paper" we win, so I will be disappointed for the season if we lose and go 11-1, not because it's Texas but because we should win it based on resumes.
