Saw an article on CBS predicting Bama #2 above both Indiana and A&M! GIVE ME A BREAK! I know the first CFP ranking means diddly, but the media loves carrying the water of the blue bloods. Good lord. I hope LSU's interim coach plays their backup QB and they pull it out in Tuscaloosa.

They could at least wait until A&M loses a regular season game or Bama BEATS A&M head to head in Atlanta before trying to place them above us.

I don't see any way OSU isn't #1. They're a reigning national champ, blue blood darling and beat the indomitable program that is tu.

Alabama has played and beat 4 of the top 9 teams in the SEC.

We beat 5 of the bottom 7 (current SEC standings). We haven't played any of the top 9 teams yet - that changes this week when we play Missouri (9th in current SEC standings)

Their loss to Florida St will hurt them, but so far in SEC games only their resume is better. Beating the current #5 team (Georgia) is a big boost. Our win against #10 Notre Dame helps in the comparison to Alabama.

Objectively Alabama has the best resume. Wins over Vanderbilt, Tennessee, at Missouri and at Georgia and one loss is a better resume than teams that have zero losses but fewer top 15 wins. A&M should be 2, Indiana 3, and Ohio St 4. As for blue bloods, is Indiana a blue blood? Are we a blue blood?

They lost to a garbage FSU team. I realize it was the first game of the season, but it happened. Everything you pointed out about their wins is true, but they lost a game. We haven't lost a game. Above all else, winning and losing games is the number one deciding factor in rankings. If we're not going to hold teams accountable for losing games, then what are we even doing? Alabama should not be ranked ahead of us, and they correctly will not be.

I just want to see tOSU no2 or no3, just to see heads melt in Ohio lol. This first ranking show is shock and awe, they need to generate controversy to get people talking about it

A lot of naive Aggies on this thread. They will have us no higher than #3. I'm expecting #4.

This is an opaque process where they make the rules up as they go (remember sip getting in over undefeated FSU a couple years ago). And it's dominated by big media interests that have a clear record of being hostile to our brand and favorable to 2-3 of our principal rivals' brands (sip, paperclip, lsu).

They want to put as close to the edge as possible so that the slightest loss, or even close win against say USCe, will be enough reason to pull as many teams as conceivable ahead of us. And they get to anchor our pre-positioning for that in tonight's release.

The key is they lost a game to a bad team

Had their loss been to UGA or someone else on the top 10 then they'd have a case, but losing should be penalized when losing to bad teams

Because they have really good wins they should be the highest ranked 1 loss team but that fsu loss is a black eye and should be treated as such

Don't care about which position A&M gets as long as its paired against Indiana. Let OSU and Bama potentially play each other in the semis.

While I have no idea where anyone will land, some things cannot be ignored. Well…should not be ignored.

1. There are only 4 undefeated teams. They should be rewarded.

2. Yes, Bama has beaten some really good teams, but you cannot dismiss their horrible loss to a really bad Florida State team.

3. Barely beating lower tier conference teams should not be rewarded. Strong wins should be important.

4. The Big 12 and ACC are not strong conferences. It's not bias, it's fact.

5. Part of me thinks it's cool a group of 5 team gets in. Part of me thinks it's dumb. I am more often than not landing on dumb.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
