Same State proximity isn't as meaningful as it once was.

With extreme visibility of games and NIL for traveling families… There's not much LSU can offer that TAMU or Georgia can't.

Now, if one's point is the vast capacity for "special legal treatment " that LSU enjoys from the State of Louisiana, then that's still a factor.

I suppose this is true. USC is worse than they were 20 years ago. Notre Dame is better than they were.
