One cannot assume an SEC team only has 20 - 30 good players. And you can't assume a coach cannot scheme without taking the personnel into account. For all we know, LSU may have a hidden gem that even they didn't recognize until he set foot on the field Saturday.
This, for all we know in practice the back-up is 90% of the player the starter is. This being his moment to shine, he rises to the occasion, plays up to or surpasses the play level of the starter and then falls back to earth next week.
It could be an opportunity for us, but to look at it now as a given that we will destroy the kid and sack Nuss all game is hopeful thinking.
This is probably the best defense we will play all year, at night in Death Valley. Regardless of how bad their offense is or how good our offense is. Getting a win would be huge. A win moves me from thinking we have a decent chance to compete for a conference title and chance to make/do something in the playoff to we are legit legit contenders for the conference and a legit title contender.
