Consider the fact that ESPN likely doesn't care about this game much because they expect a blowout.

Don't disagree, but having them team stay at the hotel staying loose is much better then being dressed in the locker room wet and waiting.
I don't love it. But it does probably take their crowd out of the game some.

Agreed. At the hotel allows rest and relaxation, heck drag I'm a projector and get some last minute film breakdown,

I presume as the home team they have a more comfortable locker room and access to all of their usual player lounges, etc..
Once we leave the hotel we have whatever snacks/food they brought with them out had catered.
Their visitor locker room is bare bones.
