Miami:
Beat Notre Dame 27-24 at home
Beat Florida 26-7 at home
Beat a 3-3 (1-3 vs. P4) team with high pre-season ranking on the road 28-22
Beat a team not expected to be good that has a 5-1 (2-1 vs. ranked P4) record at home 49-12
Beat a bad G5 team 45-3.

Texas A&M:
Beat Notre Dame 41-40 on the road
Beat Florida 34-17 at home
Beat a 3-3 (1-3 vs. P4) team with high pre-season ranking at home 16-10
Beat a team not expected to be good that has a 4-2 (1-2 vs. ranked P4) record 31-9
Beat two mid-to-bad G5 teams 42-24 and 44-22.

Just based off watching games, I think Miami is a bit ahead of us. What a time though to even be considering this.

I agree. I think Miami is a little better than us right now. But that is OK. Teams change as the season moves along.

Our third best win, Auburn, is better than theirs FSU. The USF wins is why I slot then above us on rankings.

Still, I'd favor us over the canes on a neutral field.

If only there was a fella with a spreadsheet who could give us expert analysis. Though that's a lot to ask of him.

Miami is nasty. Glad we don't play them in the regular season.

Based on the models I have seen, it would probably be a pick-em on a neutral field or a very slight Miami lean. FPI favors Miami by 1.9, SP+ favors us by 1.7, KFord favors Miami by 1.6, Sagarin has us at #7 and Miami at #6, FEI hasn't been updated yet, but had the teams basically tied in their ranking last week.

Many of the models are showing Miami -1 or -2

The one I use has A&M -2

Miami doesn't have a single ranked team left on their schedule. Assuming they win out they would play a team like GT or Virginia (as of today) in the ACC title game so Miami may pass the eye test for some people but they won't be as battle tested as anyone coming out of the SEC.

GT plays 3 4-win teams and UGa (at home) to finish the season. If they win out, and I wouldn't bet against that, it will likely set up the best conference championship game (assuming undefeated Miami) where both could be slotted for a 1-4 seed if a close game.

Add in Bama, the Aggies, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Indiana, and not leaving out UGa and Oregon (subject to playing previously mentioned teams), there are a whole lot of potential undefeateds or one loss teams that will be in, with seeding to be determined. This might not be a good year to try and get in with 2 losses.

(I didn't mention LSU, OU or Vandy, but if one or more finish with 1-loss, that will crowd out some of the above. So just take your pick).
