I've got a feeling the super contracts for coaches are going to become a thing of the past and move towards incentive laden contracts. The game moves too fast and players cost too much to have all the capital tied up in the coach.

Penn State had to do this. They were going to lose all their talent and nobody would want to portal in with a lame coach. The question now is how much will they be able to pay players next year?

Go look at the talent roster last year. Much better than Notre Dame. Never should have lost in the semis.

Always gets outcoached in big games. PSU fans wanted him gone a long time ago.

Never can win the big one though. Like Georgia under richt, sometimes it just isnt going to happen.

Id expect the Indiana coach to get a call along with elko.

Franklin specialized in beating teams he was supposed to beat and losing to top teams. Works fine till you lose to UCLA and Northwestern in consecutive weeks. PSU is a bad football team. They are arguably the worst team in the B10 right now. Let that sink in.

In all seriousness, I think the mid season firing makes the most sense under current rules. Wait til four games have passed and players can't redshirt. Then rip off the Band Aid and give the program some time to try to work things out with your stars before the portal feeding frenzy begins.

I got my MBA at PSU that's why I follow PSU football. Most fans have wanted Franklin gone a long time ago.

(Don't worry got my undergrad at A&M and A&M my favorite team.)
