Play solid defense like we did last week, cut down on penalties,and protecting the football should result in a solid win.

This game has me nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

I'd love a decisive, statement win. But given our history against Clanga, I'll be happy if we only score one more point than they do.

And scoring points. That may be the key. Hopefully we run the touchdown play.

We can probably beat state & Florida even if we stay sloppy. They aren't very good teams


The problem is if we don't correct our issues before the back 1/2 of the season

Mississippi St is coming off an emotional close loss, has injuries piling up , has way less talent, and we are at home at night. If we dont win by at least 10 we may not be in for the special season some people think.

There are several trends in our favor.

1. Mississippi State is coming off a heartbreaking 41-34 overtime home loss to Tennessee for their 13th consecutive SEC loss and 16th time in 17 SEC games since the beginning of the 2023 season.

2. Mississippi State is playing their first SEC road game, and this game is at night.

3. Mississippi State is struggling with the injury bug.

4. We are 4-2 in home games against Mississippi State, and all 4 home wins were by 10+ points, including a 51-10 rout in 2023.

5. We are coming off a 16-10 home win over Auburn in which we outgained Auburn 414 to 177 total yards.

For these reasons, I am expecting a double-digit home win over Mississippi State.

I see your point, but the transitive property doesn't exist in football.
If we W it counts as a Win. Good, bad, ugly - A win is a Win.

We won ugly last week - although statistically dominant. (should've been much worse if not for some phantom calls from the Zebras) so it would be nice to have a good win.

This is where having a slightly lighter but more athletic DL is going to really pay off. The MSU modern day version of the triple option is going to give up a ton of TFL's. We match up extremely well with them.

Once they get behind the sticks their QB is going to be a sitting duck. They don't pass block very well.

Beating ASU at home and taking Tennessee to overtime at home does not give them the type of resume to expect them to come into Kyle and win Saturday night.

We win handily if we play clean and execute.

Looking at these numbers we better not overlook cowbell. This looks like it should be a good game.

I'm predicting that A&M and Auburn will have fewer penalties this week... unless one of them get the same officiating crew from last week.

QB is accurate, even under pressure, can stretch field ... WR's get open, especially across the middle. OL is good but is inconsistent, resulting in Sacks. RB is very good (Boswell?). They're balanced. Make you spread out, then slash you with Boswell. Sacking QB is crucial, he'll stand there and throw sharp passes while getting smacked. This will be another good test and building block for our Defense.

Will be interesting to see Kleins game plan. Depending on Miss St's defense, but I see an all out balanced attack. We win in the trenches.. However if there continues to be a ridiculous amount of deposits in the "Coaches Cabo Fund" this could be the game that bites us. They're Kicker is real good and from 50+...
My confidence, in A&M, will grow considerably if we take care of business and before Miss St's last drive of the game.

Just needs to be a win and get on with it.

I get 189.5 is better than 190 on allowed yards....but I'm not sure I'd highlight that one as a statistical advantage.

what's the score if we don't have a td taken off the scoreboard and don't give up a blocked punt for a td and or have an interception returned to the two?

we have cost ourselves 14 points a game in the last two games, clean that up and we win by double digits. it's really as simple as that. we are the better team that has gifted our competition to many points unearned.

Haven't seen anyone mention this, but the last Clanga conference win was 10/21/2023 against Arky. They're 0-13 in the SEC since then. If we can play to our potential, it will be ugly.

I mentioned that Mississippi State has lost 13 consecutive SEC games and 16 of their last 17 SEC games since the beginning of the 2023 season, but I should have also mentioned their only SEC win in that span was a 7-3 road win at Arkansas on 10/21/2023.

I agree that if we play to our potential, it will be a blowout.

State is what i call A&M Gemini twin. The teams share similar colors and State originally was named Mississippi A&M Aggies.

Imo this game will be a nail biter. They are balanced . They have nothing to lose. Two TD line is ridiculous imo. Hope home field gets us over the top. I don't care how much we win by …. Just win.
