The argument that many/most of the calls were accurate (most egregious ones weren't)….but there can legitimately be a flag thrown every play but it's not. There was a clear point being made by the SEC that "so Auburn you think we didn't throw enough flags, we are making it rain this game". Killing the flow of the game helped Auburn which was clearly the inferior team.

LSU and Ole Miss was a flag fest as well

The only thing I was happy and shocked about was they actually called holding on blatant holds right at the point of attack that sprung Arnold to make big plays.

That is unheard of for us to have that happen.

414 yards to about 176 isn't close without the officiating…regardless of kleins terrible call that gave them a score

They also didn't call some obvious ones. Which is the point. They can throw a flag every play if the want to get involved in a game.

For me, the two most tiki tack calls were:
1. Roughing the kicker.
2. Lineman down field.

OMG

The personal foul on Regis for throwing the RB to the ground was terrible too and gave them a FG. He was still a runner. Anyone remember ND db body slamming Craver? For more egregious and no flag. That should never be a penalty except maybe on a QB. If you're upright and don't want to get thrown to the ground then get stronger, but don't expect a flag.

There is probably some truth to that. But which way do you want it?

We ***** when they don't call them and ***** when they do.

Did you read what I said? I said neither should be a flag…reading comprehension. You seem to have a weird obsession defending the terrible officiating. You must have bet the Ags to not cover

You can call offensive holding on literally every play if you choose to do so. Yet most games have darn near zero holding penalties called.

Something was going on today that was abnormal.

And Auburn got screwed last week.
SunrayAg

Exactly.

You expect me to believe that NO SEC team held us in the entire conference season last year?

But our offense held 5 times today?

BS.

There was an agenda in place.

As long as that piece of **** Sankey is the SEC commissioner, we will be getting raped by SEC refs every week in conference play.

I thought a couple of holding calls in the first half were pretty weak. Dlineman just fell down and they threw the flag.

They called running into the kicker - which was the correct call - that is only a 5 yard penalty and doesnt include an automatic 1st down. What hurt is Auburn only needed 3 yards.

The problem is, our guy did nothing to knock the kicker over. It was an Oscar worthy performance by the kicker. Replay showed as much. That was a LeBronesque flop.

They need a "touching the kicker" foul for a 1 yard penalty. That would have applied here.

Which is why we need to tell them to quit doing it to us or we will take action. And be negotiating with the Big 10 privately.

100% agree. I've been saying we should go to the Big 10 for two years.

He touched the kicker's leg. That constituted the flag. Falling down has nothing to do with that call.

Item 2. Running into the Kicker. It is a foul for running into the kicker if a defensive player:

contacts the kicking leg or foot of the kicker, even if the kicker is airborne when the contact occurs; or
slides under the kicker, preventing him from returning both feet to the ground

The only thing I can say about the officiating is that at least is was called for both sides.

As it was said above... Arnold broke free a couple of times and the refs (rightfully so) called holding both times.

That being said., they need to chill the heck out going forward. It was ridiculous.

That kicker missed his calling playing soccer. I've seen worse flops, but typically from a fish spitting a hook.

Tbf there were more holding calls against both teams then I remember in a college game in a looooong time.

I agree with OP that the OU fiasco was part of it but the philosophy leading to poor officiating is more pervasive in my opinion. The LSU Ole Miss game was similar to ours. Ole Miss dominated statistically but had significantly more penalties and the game went down to the wire. This arbitrary interference which influences games, whether deliberate or not, and its BAD for the viewing and BAD for the game. The SEC needs to get the mess cleaned up now, not after the season.

Incidentally the Bama UGa game has 36 penalty yards at the half compared to close to 200 yards in each game mentioned above. That's not by accident..their mindset is to not muck up the prime time game. So let's do that across the board so teams that get their asses kicked all day don't end up with a rabbit out of the hat win they didn't earn.
