Too late!!!

Someone has forgotten the annual Aggie headscratching loss and how we seem ti make mediocre Mobile QBs look like Joe Montana for one game.

I know. There are some Aggies who have very short memories. We win a few early games and they begin strutting around like they own the place and we're going to run the f'ing table only to get their pants pulled down by a middle of the pack team. I think the OP is a VERY new Aggie fan or has severe amnesia.

One year has little to no impact on the next.

What you speak of is personal insecurities based on feelings. If you expect us to fail before it ever happens there's no sain reason to support the team.

Appreciate the lesson in football physics, Captain Obvious. You can call it insecurity and feelings if you want, but I call it a 30-year trend. You can ignore it if you want to, but that doesn't mean it magically disappears. Trends matter, and we've been in a rather ****ty one for decades.

I'm definitely optimistic on what I'm seeing and hope we keep the momentum going. What I'm not doing is saying we're going to boat race Auburn like the OP did.

I didn't say we were gonna boat race Auburn. I said we were gonna put belt to ass on Freeze

I do stand by my superior belief that this game will not be close. Ags win in a runaway

Nobody hopes you're right more than me.

Auburn is more physical than anyone we faced. We like to put Ws in preseason up against them but we are 7-7 against them I think. This could be our first loss, hope I am way wrong and we destroy them.

If we can come out with a cutthroat mentality after a big emotional win like that then it coukd be a sign that the culture finally ain't like it used to be.

Definitely could happen, especially after last year's slip. Not about to take them lightly after their game last week. Anybody's guess how they respond. They could come out in their feels and roll over. I lean towards them arriving with fire in their eyes and bellies. But I also believe we have what it takes to overcome them regardless.

If we win and avoid major injuries I'll be good.

What makes you think we won't come out with fire in our eyes? This is our revenge tour Game 2.

Now that we've gotten over the Notre Dame hump in South Bend, I don't think motivation will be a problem for our team.

Ghost, welcome to TexAgs! I guess you are new to Aggie football too. I see you posted at 10pm. Maybe not have many beers next time you post, lol

Edit: wait, you have like 13k posts. You should know better than to post something like this, ha

Actually 6-7 since joining the SEC, 2-4 at Kyle Field.

Pre-season I think everyone had Notre Dame, LSU and tu as our 3 toughest games - all on the road.

After watching the first 4 weeks of play, I think those 3 are still probably the toughest - because they are road games against very talented teams, although none of them appear to be as tough as they seemed pre-season - and we already got by the first one.

But Auburn might be the 4th toughest - especially seeing at how South Carolina and Arkansas have played so far. Missouri is up there too (another road game).

If you read this board you have to think that 90% on here thought pre-season we were going 8-4 or worse. So obviously they think we are losing to ND, LSU and tu. I think many would pick either Auburn or Missouri as the next most likely loss.

This is a non-consensus view but I believe by year end neither OU nor Auburn will be regarded as highly as they are now.

What are you basing this on? Auburn is more physical than Notre Dame? I don't buy that.

Jackson Arnold is not very good.

I think we cover with ease.

Man, anyone that thinks the Auburn game will be easy didn't watch us play ND too closely.

Not taking it away from the team. And I will say that I see Reed improving (I've been a critic to-date). We played hard and earned it. But that game could have easily been a two score loss and one where we all flipped the TV off.
  • At least three times Reed could have been easily picked
  • Deep passes, while improving, leave much to be desired
  • Granted, ND has two stellar RBs, but we were shaky on the D line and with LBs stepping up
  • OL improving, but needs more improving
  • Penalties galore
Yes, maybe the bye helped here, but they can also hurt, let the players get inside their heads, get rusty.

Auburn is a proud program, sometimes an injured animal is dangerous. And they didn't look horrible vs OU. Not their best team, but they are dangerous.

Winning this game starts and ends with shutting down Jackson Arnold's legs. He will connect on some deep throws to Auburn's standout receiver, but I like A&M's chances if Arnold doesn't consistently extend drives by running for 4-5 yards here and there.

They are extremely good and physical against the run, much better than Notre Dame. We'll be very lucky to break 100 yards on the ground. Gonna be a close game.

We have won our last two home games against Auburn by 17+ points each (20-3 win in 2021 and 27-10 win in 2023) because we held Auburn to 6 offensive points (the other 7 came on a 67-yard fumble return in 2023) in their last two trips to Kyle Field. We kept Auburn out of the end zone in those two games. I would like another double-digit home win over Auburn, but I expect this game to be much closer because we are facing Jackson Arnold and an Auburn offense that scored 38 points in a road game at Baylor. Hopefully, our defensive front can bring the heat on Jackson Arnold, and the 12th man can cause several false starts. If Auburn manages to stop our running game, I am expecting Marcel Reed to sling the ball against the Auburn secondary. I am predicting a close 31-24 home win.

I attended the Auburn Baylor game and will share that I thought Auburn's OL looked massive compared to the Baylor DL. Baylor was simply overpowered… And got gassed toward the end of the game. Auburn won that game because they established a run attack and Baylor just didn't have the size or athletic speed to contain them….Arnold burned them so many 3rd and 4s with a QB draw….it almost became predictable…..I don't think they'll have the same level of success on our D, but our LBs are going to have a big game and not overrun plays in pursuit……

I think this is more of a fit for the swamp kitties but technically speaking it applies to Auburn too, and is therefore something I hope Elko is taking into consideration in his game prep:

If Auburn wins tomorrow, I leave the Zoo for the rest of the season
