Did you check hotels in Lafayette or Hammond?

I haven't yet. That's the next option I suppose.

Leave plenty early and check Waze, crossing the basin has been a nightmare lately from Laf

pm me if you need help. It's not the best hotel, but I can get you 1 or 2 king rooms at the Econo Lodge University area for $125 night so $250 all in 24-26 Oct.

NOLA aint that far.

Denham Springs might be an option if you are just looking for a place to crash.

Poster is right about IH10 across the Atchafalaya. Be sure to check traffic. You could get stuck on the bridge for hours.

If going to NOLA, you could take 90 down through Morgan City to NOLA.

OR

If staying in Baton Rouge area, take IH49 up to Opelousas and then take 190 to Baton Rouge.

Lived there for many years. My advice. Don't go.

Went to the LSU game in 2013 and had a great time, even though we lost. Would much rather go there for a road trip over Lubbock or Waco.

I don't know where you're flying from, but if you want to save money, don't fly to Baton Rouge. Direct flights there are limited to begin with. Just fly to New Orleans.

And book a hotel in Metairie if you don't mind driving in, or if you want to stay closer, book a room in Zachary. Hammond would be fine too.

Do not book a room in Lafayette unless you're a masochist. Dealing with traffic on the Basin bridge and then the bridge in Baton Rouge during game weekends is at best a pain in the ass. At worst, it's a hellscape reminiscent of the line of abandoned cars leaving Atlanta in the Walking Dead.
