Sooner front four is going to bury Manning. Their defensive line is scary.
Manning doesn't do well under pressure and Venables is gonna dial it up all day
Venables will have a field day with Arch IMO.
Keep in mind, Michigan has a pathetic passing game. OU won't be able to pin their ears back all season against significantly more capable teams.
Mateer is going to find himself on the Heisman list. He's a JFF starter kit.

Get that the Michigan QB is a freshman but he personally put this spotlight on himself and played like your average run of the mill freshman. I hope Michigan and other schools wake up and stop paying high school kids these stupid amounts, thinking their savior is here. He looked like ass. If I were a Michigan fan I'd be embarrassed.
0u played hard for 4 quarters without a QB until their defense was flat worn out last year. Venables has them going in the right direction.

Venables has been a disaster. 1 win over a ridiculously overrated Michigan team that couldn't complete a pass and now last year didn't happen.

No doubt MI was overrated but aren't all the blue bloods?
Overall OU is a much improved team with a legit QB. They are gonna make some noise this year. One of the better looking SEC teams right now IMO. And the SEC is wide open for the taking. As a fan base, we should be drooling and very happy about Elkos team at this point.
I have a feeling the sip-ou game will be a low scoring game. OU's Dline will eat the sip Oline alive. Sip defense is also really stout and I didn't really see anything scary about OU's offense. And if Mateer keeps running the way he did against Michigan, he will end up on the injured list instead of the Heisman list.

True Freshman playing that defense not possible to be successful. Nobody is can't miss but his profile was pretty close to can't miss... I think the Russell kid will end up being better but will see. Crazy how that recruitment went down so I hope Underwood does under perform but it's way to early to know.
Mateer runs differently from jff. He runs hard like a rb and takes alot if hits. He looked good, but dont know if he will survive the season playing like that.

Interesting.... Still a lot of football to see before they play, but even before OU Mich yesterday I was telling a friend on the drive back from the game in CS that I feel OU will stomp the sips this year. I think OU looked good yesterday, their QB seems better than the prematurely anointed savior of college football in Asstin. Maybe just wishful thinking, but the signs are at least there.

OU looked legit from the get go last night.
With that said, Michigan is miles away from where they were under Harbaugh, but to OU's credit, they could have caved, but they did not. Look forward to seeing them and the short horns face off soon.

I was hoping that OU would have a long down period(while beating tu every year), but it appears like they will be just fine in the SEC. I'm jealous. They hit a small rough patch, go out and get a QB, and they are right back to being a good team again. A&M has outrecruited the Sooners on defense for a number of years, yet OU's defense looks way better. Their o-line looks better as well, which is disappointing.

The toughest games Mateer had last year were Washington, Oregon State, and Boise State.
Maybe he has a good year. But he's never played closes to the defenses he's going to play this year game in and game out.
I was at this game. Michigans offense is the most boring offense is the most boring offense that I have seen in a long time. ou will be lucky to win 7 games this year. Let's slow the roll on ou being better than tu.
