Do you like your gig?

And Lee wouldn't have been so agitated if he would have paid attention to the show and stopped the dog from eating the napkin.

I always liked Lee Corso. He made things a little more fun, especially on Game Day with his knowledge of college football.

But there's more. Many on here like to make fun of him, and well that's their prerogative. However, he was a pretty good football player in his day. He actually is tied for third most interceptions at FSU with none other than Neon Deion.

From a SI article: "Sanders appeared amazed when Davis told him that he and Corso are tied for third in Florida State history with 14 career interceptions.

"You're joking," Sanders said on College GameDay. "Are you kidding me? … But you know what? That means they didn't throw at me!

Indeed, Corso intercepted 14 passes as a Seminoles defender from 1953 to '56, and Sanders likewise recorded 14 picks as an FSU player from 1985 to '88."

I guess more than one may notice Deion made it about himself while Lee Corso had done the same thing as All-World Sanders without bragging somehow. Just another reason to like Corso. Anyways. . .

He should have retired 5 years ago, but now that I'm sitting here today I'm happy he didn't. What a great run. A true piece of Americana. Enjoy your final day Lee!

Dude was a lunchpail kid. Corso played offense and defense at FSU from 1953 to 1956. He was called the "Sunshine Scooter" for his speed. Corso put all up kinds of stats at FSU with 1,267 rushing yards, 409 receiving yards and 527 passing yards with 18 total touchdowns. He had 14 interceptions as a defensive back, tied for Deion Sanders for third in program history. He even made all five of his extra-point kicks. Corso was an honorable mention on the 1956 AP All-America team. He was inducted into the Florida State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1978.
