Remember in 1992 when we were undefeated but only 3rd or 4th in the AP poll because of how pitiful the SWC was? Corso was on record agreeing that we shouldn't be ranked any higher. He flew to Easterwood midweek to film a segment for the show and was met with hecklers as he stepped off of the plane. That's what I think of when I think of Corso and TAMU.

I remember that as well...and that's when I realized Corso really knew what he was talking about. Well, at least he did before he got, you know...old. Anyway, as much as I absolutely LOVED those early '90s A&M teams, we were always a good ways away from being a true national power. Fun to watch demolish also-rans like Baylor, TCU, and Rice...but not fun to watch when we were matched up with actual good teams.

Look at the 1992 season. We weren't exactly whipping everyone.

W - Stanford, 10-7...if replay review was around in '92, we would have lost this game
W - LSU, 31-22...LSU went 2-9 that season
W - Tulsa, 19-9...Tulsa was 4-7 that year
W - Missouri, 26-13...Mizzou was a 3-8 team
W - Texas Tech, 19-17...we kicked a last-second FG to beat a 5-6 Tech team
W - Rice, 35-9
W - Baylor, 19-13
W - SMU, 41-7...only SMU's 4th season back from the death penalty
W - Louisville, 40-18...Cards were 5-6 on the season
W - Houston, 38-30...UH went 4-7 that year
W - TCU, 37-10
W - Texas, 34-13
L - Notre Dame, 3-28...ND was certainly good that year, but we got absolutely manhandled from start to finish

Damn Gameday attended a buttload of Alabama games. I count 37 times he picked Bama.

Didn't we almost beat his Alma mater in the Cotton Bowl the year before?

We only lost to Florida State by 8 points, but it was nowhere the near "almost beat" category.

Best memory of Lee for me was when he said "A&M can beat BYU 31 times in a row", during the half time show of the famous holiday bowl between A&M and the heisman-led BYU

I suspect a lot of his picks were to get a rise out of the crowd. He was that guy for GameDay. I would bet if he was betting money, it would be different.

They're making him fly Southwest? Could they not get him a first class ticket???

I haven't watched these talking head shows in 15 or 20 years and wasn't aware he was still on the air. Never was a Corso fan.
