Where is everyone tailgating for Notre Dame?

Parking is crazy expensive near the stadium, but only lots you can tailgate.

Most overrated road trip ever. Going to Missouri game instead.

Went to ND when we played them in SB 2000. Horrid, arrogant fans, no hospitality and juvenile fans at tailgates and crossing them on campus, etc. You get over seeing TD Jesus in like 5 seconds. No real "tradition" we hear of. They have "history," no unique "observable traditions." The icing on the cake was when their fans sitting behind us told us we deserved the Bonfire tragedy since it was a stupid tradition (actual event).

That was over 20 years ago… get over it! You're either a wife that likes bring up old stuff or guy with the same mentality

Nope. Neither. Their trip to CS last year did nothing to change my impression of ND fans. And a friend from Chicago attends games sometimes in SB. Concurs, not much has changed. I think of ND as no different than the sips. Both experiences aren't worth it IMO.

I'm not sure I've ever seen ruder student fans than Colorado in 2021 and that includes Texas Tech.

And I'm a bit baffled why you came on to **** on a thread about people going to Notre Dame. You know most of us have had to plan for this for a while.

The paved parking lots around their stadium probably make up for 75% of their tailgating scene

Make sure you ask people you meet out there how their other favorite teams: the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Los Angeles Lakers are doing this year.

Thanks I'll cancel our family trip to Chicago and the game.

Agreed, CO was pretty bad as well, in 2021. A pastor friend of mine had fries thrown on him and his kids. Then fights broke out after the game.

Try to enjoy the trip. Maybe things have changed to some degree. I will say it seemed some Ags came back from that trip with a different feeling and thought it was fun. Not sure what they did different.

By contrast, trips to Oklahoma, Auburn, Clemson and Florida IMO were much better experiences than ND.

Really hate to hear all the negative experiences from the past, we're really looking forward to going to the game. That being said, has anyone answered the original question or figured out any tailgating spots?

Couldn't agree more. Great trip though overall besides fan experience and Haynes going down and changing our program's trajectory by orders of magnitude (pretty wild thinking about that in hindsight right now. For better or for worse who knows there)

But we got to remember my dad (self proclaimed parrot head) by doing it right at Jimmy Buffett at Red Rocks on Thursday. And it was Aggie football in CO in September so hard to complain too much.

Outrageous moments I will always remember:

All student section chant "furk you Aggies" whole stadium loud. And it wasn't short and quickly drowned out kinda thing.

Was with my mom and brother. Had 3 skinny drug (read: Boulder) looking shrimpy skateboard kids just stop look at us and flick us off as we're walking into the stadium. Like the whole turned 150 degree while we walked by still giving us the finger and laughing all drunk as hell.

Buncha kids walking extremely close when going against the grain in the terraces/concession areas just looking for someone shoulder in to take the bait and start something.

It was pretty wild.

To try and answer the question…

Immediately south of the stadium there is some, (around Legends bar) where the large lots are. and then east of the stadium amongst the other athletic venues. North of campus also has some. There isn't really any on campus to speak of that I remember. Taikgating aunt much of a thing there from what I saw.

Been there for 3 games since my in laws are all ND (except my wife) and I don't get why people gawk over ND. Pretty campus, esp in the fall but stadium experience is meh…it's just not what you're used to having visited sec venues.

Went to South Bend in 2000, my favorite trip of all the Aggie road trips I've been on, and that's quite a few. Stayed in Chicago, went to Cubs game on the Friday before. Doing all the same things again this year, just with my '28 son in tow.

Folks that are bashing this trip are hilarious to me. Mean fans? No traditions? Whatever my guy.

I'm not necessarily bashing it, just setting expectations. It's and enhanced high school experience. Fans I met were nice, no issues there.

Something about xylophones in a college football environment just doesn't do it for me. For some reason their band was just very high school ish and sort of set the tone for my experience.

Love Columbia! If we hadn't already planned our trip to South Bend I would have liked to go to that one. Get pizza at Shakespeare's! I still think about it!

We are doing the Irish Express bus from Chicago that has a tailgate near the stadium. If you are already in South Bend there is an option to just buy the tailgate pass. Will be a decent group of Aggies in there.
