I like the food there just fine. I don't have an issue with the highly variable order completion times, particularly in the drive thru. The one in Giddings can take 20+ minutes when there's only a few cars in the line and in the lot.
Giddings is one I actually complained to the managers on…did no good…

They got my order wrong 5 out of the last 6 times I went there.

I bet you're the kind of woman that orders, "I want this and that but not this nor that on my burger."

That's a steep hill to stand on defending Whataburger's order competence

Whataburger sucks now. They sweetened the bun, jacked with the ketchup. Tastes like corporate profits from Chicago. Bring back the Dobsons!

This.

I have pretty much stopped going to Whataburger. I usually end up getting 1 decent burger for every 6-8 that I buy. It's especially frustrating when I work so hard to stay on my diet and I finally get a cheat day and want a burger. Just had to stop going to Whataburger. Fortunately, I have a Smashburger and Five Guys both within 1 block of my house. Unfortunately, my burger runs usually happen on the weekend after 10pm, so my choices for a good burger are limited inside the loop.

Watching your diet? Cheat day? You a chick

Whataburger is definitely not the same anymore. Very sad, because it used to be so good and used to be my favorite fast food by far.

Weird because I've never been a huge fan of Whataburger, know so many people love it, but I've never thought that much of it.

All Texas A&M fans and especially donors are entitled to know what Jerome Myles orders at Whataburger, because he is a professional football player, and we pay his salary. Texas A&M should issue a press release and disclose his full order, including condiments and whether or not he upgrades to a large drink. He might be 18, but he's an adult who took money to play a sport, and many people have a vested interest in his late night cravings and the performance of the team. The NFL ensures everybody is apprised of player health issues, and it should be the same in college for Whataburger runs.

In case you missed the memo, we don't have to pretend these guys' orders are "private meals" anymore. You can stop with the "boohoo he's only a college kid, let him eat in peace" BS.

There you go! Now you're getting it!

The one in Giddings is usually understaffed (and sometimes just poorly staffed, but those folks usually don't stay long). If it's a work day and I'm after a biscuit sammich, I usually hit the one in Paige. I don't do that often enough to know if they're consistent or not.

When most folks around our age grew up, especially if they grew up in a smaller town, the options for a fast food burger were Whataburger, Dairy Queen, Sonic, Burger King, and McDonald's. If there was another burger place in town, it was a mom & pop joint.

Of the fast food options, Whataburger is still the best out of that group.

It's what we grew up on in an era of less competition.

Carter's Burgers by the HEB on Villa Maria reminds me of what Whataburger tasted like in the early/mid 80s. It doesn't taste like that anymore.

What the hell happened to the Whataburger in Sweetwater, TX?

Been in there a few times over the past few years and every time they struggling mightily to get orders out.

Also their fries are undercooked.

Whataburger breakfasts are still decent. Everything else is a mess and the quality is sub-par for the amount of time you have to wait to get the food.

I also acquired a big cast iron flattop to go over the gas grates, so if I want a burger, I can make one in the fraction of the time and the quality is so much better

Wait.....

You're telling me you can cook a homemade burger and the quality is better than that of a fast food joint?!?!

This is absolutely mind boggling information

Last few times I have stopped at Whataburger I feel like I'm playing food poisoning roulette, with 3 loaded chambers. Now it's Freddie's if I can find one, or Dairy Queen. Thirty years ago burger king was good, but that was 30 years ago.

Waterburger forever... Maybe it is just the BCS store(s) because my #5 with mustard is still the best fast food burger around. I willl admit it seems to be hit or miss depending on the location which points to QC issues (which could be a direct result of new ownership).

That has always been an issue though, really. Ill never eat at the Paris, Texas location again. 45 minute wait and cold soggy burger (this was 4-5 years ago).

This seems to be heavily dependent on location/management. I had Whataburger for lunch today because that is what my wife wanted. It was actually pretty dang good.
