QBR Returning from 2024
1 Sawyer Robertson - 83.7
2 Blake Horvath - 83.4
3 Haynes King - 82.4
4 Drew Allar - 81.6 & Sam Leavitt - 81.6
6 Carson Beck (new team)
7 Garret Nussmeier
8 Cade Klubnik
9 Darian Mensah (new team)
10 Bryson Daily

Any guesses who number 11 is? I'd argue that guy could be a top ten QB based on this data. Plus he is returning to the same team.

Should have hit the transfer portal harder. Kid at #3 looks pretty good...

Maybe he just needed to get away from Jimbo and the clouds that surround Jimbo's way of micromanaging a QB relative to Jimbo's offense

I'll bet Marcel Reed is #11 based on the tone of your Op...

QBR is a made up stat like WAR…and isn't significantly better than passer rating though it notionally includes all offensive outcomes when a QB touches the ball.

Haynes coming in third is fantastic for illustrating that point…did he sniff a NC? Not hardly…

I am happy for HK, and he has undeniably gotten a lot better than when he was here. But keep in mind he does play an ACC schedule as well.

I watched him play a few games. Tech hardly let him throw.

Exactly. And when they did let him 2 years ago, he was a turnover machine.

I will never understand the Haynes King obsession. He lost to app state at home and led the offense to 7 points that day.

His stats at GT are not good

Even if you think they're good (I don't), understand that both King and Zach Calzada are playing their age 25 season. We don't have 7 years of going 4-8 to watch the develop here. I'm sure by 30, Calzada will lead someone to the playoffs; do YOU have that kind of time to wait?

If you like this kind of player who simply starts looking good by outlasting their high school class who are playing their FOURTH season in the NFL, then push for the active recruiting of Portal QBs; not keeping guys for 8 years.

QB is the most impactful singular position, yes.
But there are 30+ other players on any given team that play meaningful snaps that will directly affect the outcomes of games.
QB's don't win or lose games on their own. Not even the JFFs or the Bradys.

It boggles my mind that the guy who single handedly **** the bed against Ap State, is now the most popular qb ever among whiny battered Aggies.

The WR's and offense were fricking awful. He left to get good coaching and good offensive line in front of him. How many of our QB's did Jimbo almost get killed? King got screwed over by choosing A&M.

He just needed a coach. He performed at a high level in HS. He has performed at GT under the tutelage of a REAL QB coach. Only outlier has been A&M

He's had 2.8k and 2.1k years
Last two season. Which puts him in the top 10 of the SEC for both attempts
and yards. I say that because I watched several GT games last year and he threw quite a bit.

Top 10 of SEC? Out of 16 teams or whatever it is now? Is that a great stat to go by?

If he was as good a passer as people on here claims he is… they'd let him throw far more often. There's a reason he picked that system and they haven't adjusted it for him

Didn't say it was a great stat, I was addressing the comment that he hardly threw the ball, which isn't supported by the stats.

Guys this post was to hype Reed not to focus on HK. Everyone acts like he is a bottom tier SEC QB. I am pumped for the offense this year. After what the Ags did last year I can only imagine what will happen when all the pieces fit together!

I only worry about the dline and Bateman moving forward.
