The board has been silent on Moffitt heading into the season. Last year there were multiple threads on him and the impact expected from his arrival. I'm surprised it hasn't been brought up yet this offseason. What are the board's thoughts on S&C heading into 2025? Personally, I think it has flown under the radar so far and a full year under his system will yield positive results.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

I'm happy to take a "wait and see" approach this season. I've seen this show before way too many times. I was fired up for him last year too but I wasn't too impressed with what we saw on the field. Start showing us some wins and we'll be happy to talk you up!

Hope you're right….but if our baseball team is any indication, it may be a season full of injuries, even before the season starts (see Grahovic, Sdao).

Well if you know anything about working out and training….. it takes more than one year….. probably 2 full years, while seeing the results in 3rd season of a players career….. with very few exceptions

LOL….2 full years. These kids are genetic freaks who have been working out and training most of their lives. It's not like they're starting from ground zero.

There was tons of hype last year and then we played the 2024 season with more key injuries if I recall. So it's not surprising the hype has been sidelined too.

I think accountability of getting guys to be consistent about their training and intensity is the hope for difference from Sumlin, Jimbo eras. Places like A&M have had elite training since the 80's with very little separation from one top program to the next. The habits and intensity imbued from top down is the hope for a difference. All these training dudes bring it every day they have to.

Actually, no, in this case it is AFFECT, as in what will be his impact on the team, that is, his influence to produce change in something (the players). Example for the grammatically challenged: Tommy Moffitt's program will affect the player's conditioning.

The entire program under Sumlin was going to be fixed when we fired Larry Jackson. Never mind he got the same position with an NFL team.
I wish a buck was still silver, it was back, when the country was strong.

Every team has injuries . Some have enough developed depth to not drop of the edge of the earth when starters go down. We weren't there last year . We'll see if that's the case this year . Our football team has the benefit of some of the best facilities and trainers available . One of these years maybe it will translate to better results on the field.

Here is another way to remember when to use affect and effect: A is for action (affect); E is for end result (effect)

Will Moffitt's workout program affect the team in a positive manner?

Jerry Schmidt, hired during the Jimbo era, was a very effective Strength and Conditioning Coach. We hired him from Oklahoma in 2018, and then lost him to back to Oklahoma in 2021. Make no mistake, I am concerned about their toughness and strength, but I'm more concerned with what's going on between their ears. If they have the mental toughness and football IQ to outsmart their opponents.

The effect that S&C has on any given player in any given program will directly affect their success thru their playing careers.
Whether it's a positive vs a negative effect….that depends….but no doubt, it affects their play, which can affect the outcomes of games….so yeah, Tommy Moffitt will certainly affect this team and have an effect in each game we play.
