They spend so much $ that their biggest problem is sustaining it. We were being patient with our $, while they just overspent too early this recruiting cycle. And now they are whiffing on some key guys recently

What? Last time we played them, our coach told us we got "physically annihilated".TexAgTrojan said:

Be honest with yourself. Two of those schools don't fit in with the others

Yeah, but they are #9 and #10, so I will allow it. Otherwise,
1. Texas oil money
2. Texas oil money
3. Recent natty and large donor base
4. Nike money
5. Texas oil money
5. Miami money (somewhat debatable)
7. LA money
7. Recent natty and large donor base
9. ???
10. ???

If you don't think Tech is that high, you're not paying attention. Cody Campbell is using his Double Eagle war chest to fund the program, because why not? You can't take it with you.
In recent memory, last 10/15 years, we have accomplished what? A Heisman, a Cotton Bowl Win, Orange Bowl Win, trip to the finals in Omaha, and what else?
TTU Athletics has baseball and basketball success, though no championships, and football is spending like crazy, I believe they will win the Big 12 and make the playoffs well before we win the SEC or make the playoffs as a 5-12. I don't like that fact, but its the way things are trending.

Overspent? I don't think Texas is worried on how their going to pay their next recruit (especially considering who they signed yesterday). Overspending is paying a coach $77 million to NOT coach.
I wish we were at least pathetic.LB12Diamond said:
And Texas has won only 1 in my lifetime and I'm old. Print the cups.
With their resources and known advantages. See ASU game last season where they are gifted the win. Only winning 1 is pathetic.

The Jimbo buyout will continue through 2031.

I'll never stop being amazed that somebody looked at the world and all of the issues we deal with and that person(s) thought the very best use of their millions of dollars was to buy out a football coach to ensure his next 5 generations of family are set for life, all so he won't coach football at A&M.
