But seriously folks, one 5-star and two (low) 4-stars is what they have right now. They need to spend a lot more. This isn't softball where you can ride one pitcher to the world series final.

You can however, ride an easy schedule to the CFP. If we leaned anything last year, it's that 12 teams is about half contenders and half filler.
I mean, SOMEONE from the B12 is going to the CFP. And whoever it is isn't winning the CFP.

That's all they need. They don't need a lot of talent. The BDF is a ****ty league and all you need is one good QB or RB to win it all and make the playoffs

If Tceh really wanted to be great, they could have not fired their best coach ever when he finally had them at their pinnacle.

Who knows what would have happened if Leach had stayed at Tceh 10 more years, but I think most would agree it would have been worth watching.

Agreed. But part of my point is that "making the playoff" still has some cachet since we are only one season removed from it being incredibly tough to make. That will fade over time since making the playoff is the equivalent of making a NY6 bowl over the last 20+ years.

Think of it this way - we just turned the NY6 bowls into a bracket. Sure it's something to note (making a NY6) but it doesn't mean you were a national championship contender. Many many schools made a NY6 since the 4 team playoff or even the BCS era started - here's a list in fact....

ETA - to your point about riding a top RB or QB - Tech buying the top OT and possibly another in Hackett is an interesting strategy - because could you portal a pretty good QB and/or RB with a good young OL? We'll see

When looking at the 2025 tceh schedule, 5-7 looks very doable!
