This is why I hate hammering on about "best recruiting class ever!" banner. Stars and class ranks mean nothing if there is no on field results to back it up! Teams have done more than 8-4 season with less than top 5 classes. All starts with recruitment. Hopefully this new coordinator can iron that out

Thats a tough recovery and takes quite the work and rehab to come back from. Not sure he has the work ethic to do it, so it could be the end of his career unless he changes his priorities a bit.

Jimbo broke a lot of you, and yall don't seem to realize what Elko is having to clean up. Sumlin also broke a lot of you, but at least his 5 stars panned out at a much higher rate with less volume and without NIL either. Yeah, yeah, Sumlin fumbled the quarterback room and really hurt your feelings. We got it.

a 5-star WR should be declaring for the draft after 3 years of college (a la Christian Kirk)

but even Oregon could not make him a mid-to-high draft pick

That Oregon is a big step up is food for thought in and of itself. As for the "right" thing to do, who knows what is right for any one man.

But When the crowd eventually stops cheering, will players like Evan find a welcome homecoming at A&M? Doesn't sound like it. And that's sad for them. Those players that stick around until they graduate, or move straight up to the NFL will be welcomed back with open arms and cherished as Alumni forever. Just like the rest of us; members of the greatest association in the world.

Lots of what if and unknown in recruiting you have to minimize those as much as possible. Quitting in high school big red flag almost like it leads to quitting in college. But when your not a top tier program you have to take some chances. Was hoping some of the big red flags were on Jimbo but after the Hudson debacle I'm not real sure.

I tend to view the Hudson debacle as a short term loss/ long term win. It seems like the players on the team are holding each other accountable and a culture of work ethic is being set. In previous years, that type of player would have coasted on the roster for the whole year.

Do we actually know the story here? It seemed to be more of him missing tech but maybe I misread the situation.

Quit on both his HS and college teams in the middle of the season. The game knows.
