Good for Myles to get "paid" but this means he will probably never be on a championship team.

he wasn't going to be traded, so you can't blame him for wanting to get more money since he is stuck there

He can chase a ring at 35, when his old man strength kicks in. Reggie White had 16 sacks the season he turned 37.

You forget one vitally important thing. Myles is not and never will be the great Reggie White!

Dan Moore got another deal too.

Love seeing our guys get paid.

After paying Myles and Deshaun …. Are they going to have enough $ to build or even sign their draft picks?

Even if Myles doesn't win in Cleveland, they will probably trade or release him towards the back end of this contract. At that point, maybe he will get his shot at a ring.

Reggie White:
Games Played: 232
Solo Tackles: 232
Sacks: 198
Pro Bowls: 13
NFL DPOY: 2

Myles Garrett:
Games Played: 117
Solo Tackles: 250
Sacks: 102.5
Pro Bowls: 6
NFL DPOY: 1

If you double Garrett's numbers to get to about the same number of games played, he'll have 500 solo tackles and 205 sacks. And will have been a Pro Bowler 12x, and twice the DPOY.

If he stays healthy, he may be the equal of White in terms of production - and with almost twice the number of solo tackles. That he's stuck at a crappy program and likely won't sniff a Super Bowl isn't his fault.

I was thinking the same thing! He's the GOAT at his position!

This. Myles seems like a dude who will end up at KC with mahomes or another real contender for cheap as he ends his career. He needs his Von moment ala Super Bowl 50.

No one cares about pro bowls.

all pro is what's relevant.

Garrett is 1st team all pro 4 times in 8 years, white had 6. White has 20 more sacks over first 8 years.

Garrett is an all time great HoF talent. But he's not Reggie white.

Congratulations to Myle Garrett on becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history after agreeing to a four-year, $204 million extension, which includes $123.5 million in guaranteed money, but by staying with the Browns, he will endure more losing seasons and last-place finishes in the rugged AFC North.

If you look at the stats, Reggie has "0" solo tackles the first 8 years of his career. They were only tracked starting in 1994. So that stat is misleading in this case vs Myles.

Myles will have a very hard time catching White. White rarely missed games in his 15 seasons. He averaged more sacks per season over 15 years than Myles has over his 7. (13.2 vs 12.8 per season). He could get himself in to the top 5 all-time in sacks which is incredible.

Speaking of which. I hope Von gets another season and can get 3.5 sacks so he gets in to top 15 and ahead of Lawrence Taylor.

Seems like a giant sports agent scam and Miles went along with it. This is not the first time we have seen a MG speech filled with malarkey to get something for MG.

He was prepared for this, hell he was here for a while...
