Time to build a Jerry Maguire sport agency at A&M something bigger than AU collective

IMG academy was part of the famous IMG sports agency.
The movie Jerry Maguire is based on this sports business.
IMG fills the most college scholarships in America, the agency then locks down the talent.

The school that can perfect the agency model is going to have a better chance at locking down talent, that attract and retain players.

Recent A&M headline -saving a spot for a indecisive player, indicates A&M is not in this model.

The Nike brand is weakening and the regulatory governance of college sports is still being debated.

Contracts that stick
Perks for finishing
Punishments for wavering and costs to back out.
The best offers for the best players.

Get Tony B to create it.

No 5 star player is going to sign a contract where they don't have all the control. They want the guaranteed money, the ability to transfer on a whim for more money, no consequences if they don't live up to the hype, etc. If we do this then any chance we have for top talent will dry up and we will have a lot of money to spend on 2 and 3 star players and remain Texas 8&4 forever.

I honestly cannot imagine a dumber use of a dollar than giving it to these moron kids to maybe or maybe not play some football.

All I can think about when I hear IMG Academy is the overrated players we have had that came from there.

They also produce a ton of D1 athletes in a bunch of sports. Seems like they're doing something right.

Who besides Mond went to IMG? I don't really track what schools our players come from.

Currently agents can't negotiate with schools. I believe the House agreement necessarily resets that expectation…

It also makes me think of maroonthrunthru's inside sources. Thanks, Zoo.

Dezz Ricks maybe? I can't find anyone who committed to A&M from there in the last 5 years.

Kids like JC Latham, JJ McCarthy, Jihad Campbell went there and didn't choose A&M

This would require the university to actually have a desire to win something. We spent less than tu and made 3x the profit. As long as the top brass sees that, they're changing nothing. Easy money is easy.
Give me the guy who shoots for excellence and fails over the guy who shoots for mediocrity and succeeds.

I keep seeing this here. It is untrue.

"Del Conte said the biggest reasons for the increase in revenue were the school's first year in its new arena, the Moody Center, "an incredible job by our development team" in restricted and unrestricted gifts and the first year of a new local media-rights agreement with Learfield."

Not to rain on OPs parade, but the agent/agency Jerry Maguire was based on wasn't IMG.
