I saw a few players post on X a picture of Reggie McNeal playing for the Aggies, saying we should go back to Nike. I'm glad we're with Adidas, F Nike, but if the players start to want Nike, should the athletic dept. reconsider? I know it was just a few players, but I'm curious if a lot of the team feels this way but doesn't want to rock the boat.

We are not going back to Nike anytime soon. I believe we just signed a new agreement with Adidas making us one of their flagship programs and they pay out is very good, which is very important with our financial issues. Adidas makes really good gear and their uniforms are usually pretty sharp across the board for most programs. I know Nike schools have complained the past few years about the lack of creativity coming from Nike in terms of alternate uniforms.

Adidas is likely all in on Pat Mahomes and his line, trying to make it rival Jordan for this young generation and it may just work. There were rumors at one point that we would either wear a Mahomes brand alternative uniform or be one of the first programs to wear the the Mahomes brand fulltime.

I don't care if we use British Knights, L.A. Gear or Justin Boots. Just don't make clothes and shoes that look stupid, ugly, and like crap. It seems like they only good looking wear you see is what the players or coaches wear on the sideline, but you cant buy it. And, get rid of the ugly ass bevel.

Ding, ding, ding!

Like it or not, Nike is still the overwhelming brand of choice for most of the top players in the NFL and NBA.

Nike is the official outfitter for the NFL, NBA and ,yes, even MLB.

Time to move on to the brand the best players want, and it's easily NIke. The stranglehold in football is simply too much for any other brands to compete with. Jordan may be a slight threat to NIke in football, but then again, Jordan is essentially Nike too.

Reality is that Adidas will always be 2nd or 3rd rate in football. Soccer is where Adidas is #1.

If TAMU wants to elevate it's brand and image, a move to Nike is a no-brainer. Details like Nike vs Adidas matter. Just ask the players.
