Why not go to 9-3 and put the other two games up for bid? Label them non-conference to get around it if you have to. Or label all t.u. and OU games except RRR non-conference. Get creative to look out for the SEC…it's your job.
I hope they got that in writing!Fquin said:zafzo said:
If this were true, it would be Texas. But it's not true because there are too many teams with multiple huge rivalries that the don't want to lose. (A&M vs Texas/LSU, Alabama vs Auburn/Tennessee, Florida vs Georgia/Tennessee, Texas vs OU/A&M)
Why are rookies allowed to post again?
You obviously just started following SEC football yesterday. Texas and OU joined the SEC with the guarantee that their rivalry would remain in tact.
until playoff committee actually values SOS with a meaningful calculation ,9 game schedules are just playoff suicide.33 said:
The only reasonable solution is a 9 game conference schedule.
The Big Ten played a 9 game schedule. It didn't hurt them. Yes, 8 teams will pick up an extra loss if we go to 9 games (assuming that the games replaced would all be cupcake wins), but the odds are pretty good that most of those losses will not be picked up by teams in the playoff hunt.AgDad121619 said:until playoff committee actually values SOS with a meaningful calculation ,9 game schedules are just playoff suicide.33 said:

this would be a true statement if both conferences had the same top to bottom strength but they don't. Please show me where B1G teams with losing conf records knocked off playoff contenders like Vandy, OU, Auburn, Kentucky did this past year - and that was with an 8 game schedule.twk said:The Big Ten played a 9 game schedule.
