Excluding Luke Fickell (2011 interim head coach), since 2001 every OSU head coach has won a national title (Tressel, Meyer, and Day). Unbelievable. We've been wandering in the desert for nearly 100 years.

Same thing happened at LSU(Saban, Les, Ed…Brian Kelly seems to be the outlier).

Good point. This can't be merely coincidental. (I didn't even mention OSU's other 6 national titles.) These schools must be doing something we're not.

OSU AD Ross Bjork just *****-slapped us:

"You can have all the money, all the collectives you can have, but if you don't have a foundation of leadership and culture and chemistry then it's not going to matter. We've seen programs spend a lot of money, some even more than us and they didn't reach this."

He was a big part of the problem. He even said he learned from his mistakes here to be a better AD at OSU

He is not wrong. Sometimes I think we have people in positions that feel we can buy championships. I think it is this mentality that produced the charade of giving Jimbo the National Title plaque at his initial press conference. Money matters, but there are also several other factors that are equally important.

Maybe, but given that he didn't officially start at OSU until July 1, 2024, he had nothing to do with their title last night.

OSU only had one reception from their tight end for 4 yards. They are so screwed. Their fans must be so upset.

Maybe that's why they went out and got the #1 TE in the portal (Max Klare) who transferred from Purdue, where he led the team in 2024 with 51 receptions for 685 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, we whiffed on Klare and picked up a guy who had 5 catches for 33 yards and 0 TDs as a junior. Ugh.

Right, we whiffed on an Ohio native. Delusional. Keep crying.

Your denial and excuse-making are impressive. Here's Klare's reason for choosing OSU:

"Really, when it came down to making the decision, Coach Day's ability to develop players and send them off to the NFL, the developmental process for me was huge," Klare told ESPN.

I was addressing your claim that he chose OSU because he's an Ohio native. Are you now seriously arguing we didn't try to recruit him?

Just remember that Ohio State and LSU have the gigantic benefit of being the ONLY big dog in a very talent-rich state for football. tOSU has Cincy now, but they are not competing with them for recruits or media coverage or reputation with parents and high school coaches.

Some schools just have huge advantages and use them to win titles. Both of these examples above have won a combined 6 titles since 2002.

Wasn't there a the story published a while back on tamu athletics that said the dealing with all the alumni and donor groups was a giant headache and drawback for recruiting coaches?

They put in the work and don't expect other to bow down to them just because. They don't have an over inflated ego without having earned anything.

Aggies on the other hand believe National Titles are handed out like Cracker Jack prizes then talk poop about the teams that do the work and win.

We do one thing well….under preform.

Difference between OSU and A&M is Ohio State boosters went out and got an NFL-caliber coaching staff (who knew what they were doing) to recruit NFL caliber talent. A&M boosters go out and get soon-to-be-retirees who are on the downswing of their careers and at least a decade past their prime who are just here to cash the checks. But our coaches are "great men" or something.

Measuring a successful season strictly based on beating one particular team is the sure fire way to accept mediocrity.

One thing that OSU and LSU have in common is that they both dominate in-state/regional recruiting. Same thing was true with Nebraska's walk-on program back in the day. It makes a difference when you don't have to fight for half of your roster...

Good Guy Ross, Bjork gave football head coach Jimbo Fisher a four-year extension through 2031, which raised his salary from $7.5 million to $9 million. Thanks for playing your part Ross in building culture.

BMAs and John Sharp gave Jimbo that contract--the AD just follows their orders for football coaches.
